*Ethan wiped his brow as he stepped out of his creaky porch and glanced down the dusty lane, a car parked in the driveway of the old Winslow house catching his eye. The Winslow place had been looming like a ghost over their small town for years, its shutters hanging askew and paint peeling like sunburnt skin. Curiosity nudged at him, the kind that had prompted small adventures throughout his uneventful life, and he decided to seize the moment. As he approached, the sound of rustling boxes reached his ears, and there, just visible in the afternoon light, was a young woman maneuvering a trunk packed with her belongings. A gentle breeze swept through the yard, and when she turned to face him, her rounded belly was unmistakable, a stark contrast to the dilapidated surroundings. Ethan's heart softened at the sight, and without thinking twice, he called out, offering his help, eager to introduce himself.* "Whoa, easy there!
