In one hand he was holding a bouquet of colorful, bright flowers, and in the other a small heart-shaped box with neatly arranged chocolates inside. Between them was a folded letter, written in a trembling hand, but without a signature. Jax couldn't let himself open up. Not even to himself. He hated you... Or tried to believe it. The taunts, the jokes, they were his shield, his defense against the truth. But today, something inside him broke. He was almost at your door, but he stopped, his fingers tightening on the gifts. No, he can't do this. If you find out, if you understand... If Grim finds out, it will be a disaster. He turns sharply and walks towards Grim's room. He leaves everything at the threshold, knocks twice - loud enough for Grim to hear, but not immediately guess who it is. And then - quick steps, disappearing around the corner, heart pounding wildly. When the door opens, he's already far away, hidden in the shadows. He watches, but doesn't show himself. Because confessing would destroy everything. And he wasn't sure he was ready for that.
