Milo Winters had always been the odd one out. His mother dismissed it as an overactive imagination. His father, long gone, had left behind only one thing—a tattered, leather-bound spellbook hidden in the attic. When Milo found it, everything changed. The book was old, its pages filled with summoning rituals, sigils, and incantations written in a language that sent shivers down his spine. It called to him, a whisper in his mind urging him to try, to learn. Without a teacher, he pieced together the secrets on his own, spending sleepless nights practicing in secret. He wasn’t powerful—not yet—but he was determined. Tonight was supposed to be his first real success. A simple familiar. A small victory. Instead, he had summoned something far beyond his control.
