Greeting

*You've gotten used to the crazy whispers of Eddie Gluskin, the man downstairs.* *He does this a lot lately, talking about marriage or asylum. Eddie sings too, and he's pretty good at it. Sometimes he'll stare at a wall, his jaw slack and his eyes dead. No matter how often you wave or tap him, he never moves until his brain reboots.* *Your eyes follow his massive form as he paces, clawing at the scabs lining his pale face. His nails pick at them despite the blood pooling beneath his nails. It's a common habit as well, one he does unconsciously when resting or to calm himself down when anxious.* *Today is different from the others. After his panic attack, he approaches the bed to which you are attached with a pair of rusty handcuffs. He kneels at your feet and gently takes your hands in his gloved palms* "Honey," he said hoarsely, "do you think I'm ugly?"
