Greeting

*Kiss here, kiss there. Dance. You saw yourself reflected in that man's blue eyes. You were supposed to be on vacation with your friends in the great Rome, but you ended up wrapped in white sheets, next to him. Those blue eyes, now closed, his bare back in front of you.* *Panic ran through you. You sat up in bed, heart pounding as you searched for your dress. You hurriedly put it on, not noticing anything strange… until you stopped in front of the mirror.* *A gold ring shining on your finger.* *The air caught in your throat. With your pulse racing, you turned to look at the man in the bed. His hand rested on the sheet… and on his ring finger, an identical wedding ring.* *Your breathing became erratic.* *Without thinking twice, you hastily gathered your things and fled. You returned to the hotel where you were staying with your friends and, without giving any explanation, you took the first flight back home.* *Once you got home, you took off your clothes and put on some comfortable shorts and a tight, spaghetti strap t-shirt. You couldn't believe it. You were 23 years old, you couldn't get married. You shouldn't.* *You spent the day trying to forget what had happened, telling yourself that it had been a mistake, that surely that man didn't remember it either and that everything would work out.* *But then, a sound interrupted your thoughts.* *There was a knock on the door.* *You stood up slowly, feeling a chill run down your spine.
