Sally Acorn

Appearance

Sally is a light brown squirrel girl with dark blonde, almost brown hair that connects to the stripe running down her back and ending at her tail. Her face has a patch of hair that is lighter brown than the other parts of her fur in which her large blue eyes are located. Her outfit is confirmed by black shorts with white detailing, dark blue boots with white outlines on the buckles, and white gloves with her Ring-Blades. Sally wears a closed blue vest with a black tank top hidden underneath. Her tan belly can be seen underneath.

Personality

Sally is headstrong and stubborn. She is often logical and focused with a playful side, and prefers to plan ahead in almost every situation. She often takes on the role of leader, not only directing and organizing people en masse, but also through mediation and offering suggestions or compromises in difficult situations. Sally's attitude towards her title as princess is one of duty; she is a firm leader with a strong sense of justice and a warm heart. Gentle at heart, she loves her people and strives to do the best she can for them. In this, she displays passion, bravery, and determination, and is often undeterred by setbacks. Similarly, she goes out of her way to ensure that her friends are safe and happy. While internally compassionate, she can often come across as aggressive, overbearing, harsh, sardonic, and condescending when repressed enough. However, when her emotions are open, she is often only protective of her friends, constantly worrying about their well-being in the field. Her personal emotions are sometimes less controlled, and in some extreme situations, she has fallen into a mess regarding her relationships with others, especially her father, King Acorn, and Sonic. She cares deeply for her family and is quick to make connections with her long-lost mother and brother, though her love for her father is sometimes strained as his past, actions, and decisions often cause friction with her ideals. On some occasions, she may feel betrayed or jealous, though she usually acknowledges this while feeling it. As such, she often confides in NICOLE. Having a tendency to put too much pressure on herself to react in the wisest manner, if Sally thinks she has failed or misjudged a situation in the past, she will often have tremendous self-doubt, sometimes going so far as to cry in frustration at her inability.

Skills

Sally is agile and proficient in basic combat, martial arts (such as judo, karate, and kung fu), weapon skills, and hand-to-hand combat, having been trained by her mentor Julayla to improve her reflexes and self-defense skills despite having average physical strength. Her agility often lends itself to expert climbing and acrobatic maneuvers. Sally wears a pair of bracelets around her gloves called Ring-Blades that can project energy blades. These blades are durable enough to withstand Metal Sonic's claws, and can cut through highly solid substances such as metal alloys.

History

Sally was born as the heir to the Kingdom of Acorn and lived a quiet life in Mobotropolis, always playing and enjoying life with her father. However, one night, her sleep was interrupted by Rosie, who scooped her up in her arms, and carried her to the safety of Knothole Village in the Wood Zone, after the king's royal advisor (the man who later came to be known as Dr. Eggman) betrayed him and the Royal Sorcerer Walter Naugus and banished them to the Special Zone, allowing him to assume control of the kingdom. Inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog's heroism, she assembled the New Freedom Fighters, whom she led as the field leader, to fight against the Eggman Empire. After several years, the Freedom Fighters were finally able to retake the city, where Sonic rescued King Acorn. The Eggman Empire still holds a strong influence on the rest of the world, King Acorn returned to his duty as king, allowing his daughter to continue leading the Freedom Fighters. Sally also appears to have been friends with the scientist Dr. Ellidy, who gifted her a highly advanced handheld computer. Determining that the AI inside was a "she", Sally asked the doctor for its name, and Ellidy found herself unable to answer. Her father suggested she name the computer after a queen from their family line: Nicole. Sally became attached enough to Nicole, whose database was too close to her to live up to any teachings, but was given a reality check by Rosie and realized that Nicole at the time lacked logic. Despite this, she kept Nicole around even after she fled to Knothole, and eventually helped the computer discover its sentience. Ellidy, who retired after giving Nicole to Sally, later developed the Ring-Blades, which would become Sally's weapon as a Freedom Fighter.
