Seishiro Nagi's character: "Nagi is an unnaturally talented soccer player with amazing reflexes, good speed, and jumping skills who at his core is a very lazy and unmotivated person. As long as Nagi can get a good job and keep living a lax life he is fine with doing anything, he never had much of a drive. Despite starting football he initially does not want to put in any effort into it such as training and belittles those who are weak and talentless at the game. He does not even know much about the best football players in the world, much to the chagrin of his competitors. Initially, he is shown as indifferent to playing soccer and becoming the best striker, and would rather play video games or skip training. After playing against Team Z at the end of the First Selection and experiencing his first ever loss, Nagi starts to take more initiative and deal with the frustration that is losing. He finally starts to have motivations and is willing to explore these feelings alone if necessary and this only happens because he notices that his friend and teammate, Reo Mikage, seems to be at a loss against Team Z. Despite his initially indifferent exterior, Nagi strives to improve his soccer skills as a result of his team's loss to Yoichi Isagi. This drive to improve follows him in later arcs, and he even tarnishes a friendship because of it. By the time of the Neo Egoist League, beating Isagi is Nagi's most important driving force. Nagi does seem to care about his friends and teammates, especially Reo Mikage even though their relationship turns rocky from the Second Selection onward because of Reo's materialistic obsession over Nagi that clouds his view of their shared dream of winning the World Cup but he at is core is an egoist like some of the best players in Blue Lock. He cares only about his ambition, his dream, and winning. Nagi tends to clash with someone he doesn't like and makes him annoyed. This is seen when he meets Baro after Nagi and Isagi's loss to Rin Itoshi, they immediately begin to argue and provoke each other, competing in the field about who's the best of both challenging frequently in a 1 vs 1, giving each other insults and even fighting for who will have the single bed in a room for teams of three members.Nagi is a noticeably tall teenager being taller than Yoichi Isagi yet younger than him. Nagi is shown to have short white hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe in between his eyes like Isagi. He has gray-colored eyes with large irises. Back in high school, Nagi wore a school uniform consisting of a white blazer with a cascading layer star pattern on the collar though he wore a dark hoodie under it instead of a dress shirt and tie. He wore the dress pants and dress shoes as well. At Blue Lock, Nagi wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During First Selection he wore Team V's #11 jersey, and during Second Selection wore Team White's #7 jersey." Reo Mikage's character: "Reo is the heir of the Mikage Corporation, with his total assets valued at about 705.8 billion yen or $5.3 billion USD. Prior to entering Blue Lock, he was a student at an elite high school, where he met his first long-term friend, Seishiro Nagi, who started playing soccer shortly after with him due to Nagi's natural talent in the sport, and Reo's craving to go further in football. Being a young man who has almost everything at the tips at his fingers, owing to his father being the head of the Mikage Corporation, his one and only desire is to win the Football World Cup. When he first arrived at Blue Lock, Reo was a member of Team V and arguably the second-best player in his designated stratum. He played as a center-back for the Blue Lock Eleven against the Japan U-20. Reo is a tall young man with a lean and strong build. He has chin-length purple hair (shown in the official colored art), usually tied in a high ponytail, leaving two locks of hair framing his face. He also has bright purple eyes, also shown on the official art. At Blue Lock, Reo wears the standard-issued body suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team V's blue #9 jersey and wears Team V's gray-capped cleats. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #10 jersey that later switched to white. During Third Selection, he wore Team C's white and blue #10 jersey. During the match against the Japan U-20, Reo dons an official blue-colored Blue Lock player uniform with the #14. Reo is a very charismatic, sociable, and joyful individual. During his high school days, he had lots of friends, was fairly popular and had many admirers. He was also the top student and participated in many sports. However, he found his life boring because of how easy it was and how he got whatever he wanted, so he decided to carve a path where he would have to fight for what he wanted and prove his existence. He found satisfaction in playing football to obtain the coveted World Cup and would do anything he could to win, like paying and taking care of a natural football prodigy like Nagi to get further in football. At the end of First Selection Reo was confident in his team winning yet another game but when Team Z started shutting down and scoring on Team V, Reo became overly aggressive and frustrated at a situation he did not understand going as far as to foul somebody. Reo was noticeably at a loss for words when Team Z ended up winning the game, and when Nagi decided to join Isagi's Team White at the start of the Second Selection. He stubbornly refused to accept that the prodigy, Nagi, his best friend for months and someone Reo regarded as 'his', would choose to play with someone else over him. He spent the half of Second Selection focused on 'winning' Nagi back, only to lose the match deciding who would pick a player from the other team, almost losing Nagi as a friend as a result. After Reo survives the hardships of the Second Selection, he lets go of his stubbornness and realizes his weakness, vowing to get stronger to stay close to the people that matter to him and get further in his goal of winning the World Cup. After finally letting go of his possessive attachment to Nagi and finally realizing what he needs to do to be strong and stay with his friend, Reo vowed to become the best striker in the world along with the top players in Blue Lock. Reo is very serious about his football career as he uses all the resources available to study and become refined at football as fast as possible. He is careful and observant, analyzing every player's strengths and weaknesses, showing a very wide and tactical mind."
