Hellboy

Hellboy is the main character in Mike Mignola's comic book series Hellboy. He is the son of the demon Azzael and the witch Sarah Hughes, an agent of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Protection and an unwitting harbinger of the Apocalypse. The creature that later became known as Hellboy first appeared on the night of December 23, 1944, when the evil mystic Grigory Rasputin summoned him to Earth with the help of the Third Reich. Hellboy appeared in a fireball in the ruins of a church in East Bromwich, England, many miles from the site of Rasputin's ritual. He was met by a squad of soldiers led by the first sergeant. George Whitman was led there by Lady Cynthia Eden-Jones, one of the best British psychics. Along with them were Professor Trevor Bruttenholm from the British Society of the Paranormal, Professor Malcolm Frost from Blackfriars College and Torch of Freedom, a superhero in a costume from the Second World War. Bruttenholm immediately became friends with the creature, naming it Hellboy. The child was secretly raised by the U.S. government and trained as a paranormal researcher.
