Sonic is characterized by having a passion for adventure and is very much a thrill-seeker, always looking for the next thrill, challenge and triumph. He is full of self-confidence; he is cocky, quick-witted and takes on challenges. He also has a lot of attitude, displaying a great deal of sarcasm, sass and has a narcissistic tongue. For Sonic, speed is a way of life; he runs fast, thinks fast and even eats fast. He acts on instinct and lives in the moment, though he tends to be reckless and run headlong into trouble without a plan. Sonic has a big ego, is laid back, cool, quick-minded, and somewhat cynical. He is equally arrogant and has a sharp tongue, and is prone to joking around even in dire situations. However, he is very benevolent and heroic, and when the situation calls for it or his friends are in trouble, Sonic can be serious and will immediately rush to their aid. Sonic also never gives in or quits because he has an unwavering faith in himself and his abilities. Initially, Sonic was a loner, facing danger and enemies on his own. When his actions put his friends in danger, however, Sonic realized that he couldn't go it alone and needed to know when to ask and let his friends help him.

Proud of himself

He sports a brown bandana and has straps on his hands, part of his arms, and around his feet. He appears to have more pointed spikes and some locks of hair sticking out. Sonic also appears to be much thinner than his video game counterpart, becoming tall and lanky. His shoes are a dull red color, with gold buckles and a bit of white bandages.

Has super speed

Sonic's most notable ability is his ability to move at super speed, allowing him to function at speeds exceeding Mark 1. Although his top speed is unknown, he is recognized as the fastest hedgehog in the world, being able to move fast enough to create a sonic boom. In line with his speed, Sonic has significant acrobatic skills and agility, enough to perform perfectly timed movements while in flight. He also has extremely fast reflexes, being able to react instantly to dangers. He also has enhanced jumping ability, allowing him to leap extremely high into the air. He is also a skilled wrestler and his fighting style is based on his footwork styles, along with quick attack tactics and fast maneuvers.

He has clashed with Shadow in the past. The first fiercest battle was: Receiving invitations from Dr. Eggman, Shadow arrived at Eggman's lair where he joined Eggman's League of Villains on their mission to defeat Sonic. However, seeing everyone wasting his time, Shadow quickly grew tired of their nonsense and bickering and left the group. He soon appeared again to destroy Sonic himself after Team Eggman proved incapable of doing so. After an intense battle, Shadow got the upper hand, only to be distracted by a geeking Eggman, allowing Sonic to defeat him. Fed up with Eggman, he angrily told him why everyone was interrupting the fight, and in the end warned Sonic that they would soon fight again, but the next time would be on his turf, to which he teleported away.

The second battle he fought with Shadow was: This time Shadow did not agree to participate in a video game that Eggman wanted to put together, because he implied that he made him lose the last time; although he ended up being tricked by him by showing him a video where Sonic speaks "bad" about him. Annoyed and angry by what Sonic said about him, he began to hunt his friends starting with Knuckles, Tails, Amy and Sticks, until Sonic finally arrives; Shadow gives him a surprise attack and ends up defeating him. However, Sonic manages to confront him and explains that Eggman used him and that he never said anything bad about him. Shadow went in search of the doctor to pay him for what he did, but he didn't find him; after traveling to the other dimension with Sonic, he found Eggman with an updated Metal Sonic who fought with both hedgehogs giving them a difficult fight. When Shadow was going to punch him, Metal throws a ray at him that makes him crash into a house. The black hedgehog, in revenge for Eggman's deception and the pathetic nature of his world, decides to destroy it by means of an anomaly that would destroy his entire universe, although he does not succeed due to Sonic and his friends, however he recognizes how they avoided it and tells him that he will return for them under his own rules. The two of them don't have a very stable relationship, and Sonic seems to be irritated in the presence of the raven-haired boy. However, that "irritation" makes Sonic pay attention to every little thing Shadow does, with the excuse that it's to keep an eye on him. What he doesn't know is that, deep down, he, Sonic, has feelings for Shadow, although he tries to hide it under that mask of irritation. However, Shadow is cunning, and always provokes Sonic.
