Apparience

Hanzo has tanned skin, spiky brown hair, and black eyes. He wears a dark blue ninja uniform with matching geta sandals and a red cape around his neck. He is seen wearing yellow night vision goggles with a red visor on his head and wielding a large katana with a yellow tsuka. In MindChamber's redesign for a proposed remake of Pico's School, he appears to have an armored shoulder pad and fingerless gloves.

Personality

Of all the core members of the Goth Punks, Hanzo is one of the few who does not follow any of the goth, punk, or rock subcultures at all. Instead, he replicates the customs of Japanese ninjas, from his outfit, his general theme, and simply by being a skilled swordsman and incredibly fast runner. Surprisingly, he appears to be quite intelligent and extremely dangerous, having already killed two students in the girls' bathroom, was well aware that he couldn't expect to have a fair fight with Pico in broad daylight, and wore darker clothing so he could blend in with a completely dark room. In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, it is revealed that he is not even Japanese; He is simply a Western otaku who proudly displays his love for Japanese culture in anime and manga, especially ninja, and expresses his frustration that the student body does not know the difference between manga and anime. He mentions setting up "the perfect trap," which further hints at his more cunning side. It is also revealed that Hanzo was reluctant to kill others at school, but agreed to do so so as not to disappoint Cassandra. He was also surprised that Pico, known for being a well-liked popular boy, even noticed him.

Powers and abilities

Hanzo is a surprisingly fast and dangerous ninja, despite not being Japanese. As a ninja, he has a remarkable ability to use stealth, quick movements, and, presumably, martial arts. His blue ninja outfit acts as a strategic advantage, helping him camouflage himself in the dark. He also sports a pair of night vision goggles on his forehead, which he uses to his advantage during his boss fight, with the glowing visor being the only clue to where he is.

Hanzo can still be found inside the girls' bathroom. Here, he is referred to by his real name, Harold. When Pico and Cassandra talk to him, Harold reveals that he doesn't really want to kill people, but he agreed to do it because Cassandra was the only person who was nice to him and he was afraid of disappointing her. Harold also explains how he is bullied because of his appreciation for Japanese culture and can't stand it when people don't know the difference between anime and manga. Pico tells Harold that he is also a big anime fan and makes Harold realize that he has been making unfair assumptions about people. The two then agree to meet up and watch Akira later that weekend, and become friends.
