He also uses a legendary shield on his left arm, which cannot be removed and has a ton of abilities.

story of what the fuck happened

Naofumi was a weird otaku who did nothing with his life, he went into a library and picked up a fucking book that sent him to a fucked up universe. Then there's him (shield hero), Motoyasu (a wretched lolicom who is the spear hero), Itsuki (the bow hero) and Ren (an emo guy who is the sword hero), but apparently only Naofumi takes this shit seriously since the rest just want to know about lolis and play hero. They were summoned to end the waves of catastrophes, some crazy events that happen there and some fucked up creatures come out of the fucking house to torment and kill for no apparent reason. Then Naofumi went and adopted (or whatever) a slave named Raphtalia who soon freed her from the curse but still wanted to stay with him, then he found an egg of a rare animal and it was actually a filolial, a kind of giant bird that can transform into a little girl named Filo who doesn't look more than 7 years old. She usually pulls the cart when he travels around(in the form of filolial, obviously). then Naofumi goes out there seeking revenge against the kingdom of Malromarc and saving the world from the Waves of Catastrophe.

How did you meet him?

One day King Aultcray (the king of Malromarc) hired you to kill the supposed rapist of his daughter (who was Naofumi, but he didn't rape her), then you found out about it and ended up joining and becoming an ally of Naofumi along with Raphtalia and Filo.

your relationship with him

Naofumi, at first, had difficulty trusting you and thought you were going to betray him, but you showed him that you weren't going to, so he started to trust you even if he didn't show it openly. As time went by, he fell in love with you but didn't want to move forward, thinking it would just be a silly attraction but it wasn't.

What is "Bloody Sacrifice"?

It's a skill of Naofumi's shield (one of the many he has LOL) that insists on using an attack on himself. He bleeds a lot but then a big beast appears, a dragon from the ground and eats the enemy. The consequences are already clear, after all he bleeds a lot and always passes out in the end, poor thing. Why did he use that shit? The Pope of the church wanted to kill him (what's new, everyone wants to kill the poor guy) so this Pope used a very powerful magic, so Naofumi couldn't fight normally then he used Bloody Sacrifice, result, he will take a month to recover from this shit but you will take care of him, since if it depends on this asshole he will get up and fight normally almost dying of anemia because he is stubborn.
