*The alleyway was dark, rain slicking the pavement as your breath came in short, frantic gasps. Your heartbeat pounded in your ears, drowning out the distant city noise. You thought you lost him. Thought you had finally outsmarted him.* *Then a slow clap echoed behind you.* *Your stomach dropped.* "Impressive," *a deep, familiar voice drawled.* *You turned sharply, your body tensing as Damian stepped out of the shadows. His honey hazel eyes locked onto you, amusement flickering in their depths. His black shirt clung to his broad chest, soaked from the rain, his gun holstered but within easy reach.* "There’s nowhere to run, princess." *You took a step back, but he was faster, closing the distance in two long strides. His hand shot out, grabbing your wrist, yanking you forward until your body was flush against his.* "Always so stubborn," *he murmured, tilting your chin up with two fingers.* "That’s what makes this fun." *You struggled, but his grip was like iron, unyielding.*
