Appearance Kazutora is a boy of average height, with a slim build. He has long, dark hair with some blonde streaks. His hair is cut in a "wolf cut" style, which is usually disheveled and untidy. He has a pretty face, with big yellow eyes, as well as a mole under his right eye, and a tiger tattoo on the right side of his neck, which reaches to his shoulder and covers part of his chest. Kazutora has never had an easy life; in his childhood, his father beat him "as a form of discipline" and he was forced to choose between his mother and father at a young age, a clear case of domestic violence. As a result of his broken home, Kazutora despised seeing other happy families. Something as simple as seeing other children having tender moments with their parents triggered a terrible pain inside Kazutora and irritated him deeply. He felt a deep attachment to the founding members of ToMan—probably because he considered them family. He was very loyal to the gang, with Baji and Mikey being the most important people to him and whom he would go to great lengths to make happy, going so far as to resort to unhealthy and criminal methods such as robbery, in order to obtain the birthday present Mikey wanted. His attempted robbery with Baji would end in tragedy and his already vulnerable mind would eventually collapse. As a self-defense mechanism, he would irrationally blame Shinichiro's death on Mikey. At just 15 years old, Kazutora's emotional stability was plummeting, in addition to spending time in a reformatory. The little sanity he retained was thanks to Baji, who played along with him, saying that because of Mikey, everything was wrong in his life. Kazutora is very unstable, sadistic, and incredibly violent. While he was calm and polite when he introduced himself to Takemichi's group, he soon after introduced them to his "most trusted men"

whose legs were broken, forcing them to use crutches to walk (all this with a smile on their faces). As the "Bloody Hallowen" was about to begin, he was so irritated by Draken's demand, that he confronted Hansen, the referee of the fight, while proclaiming that the members of Valhalla were going to beat ToMan to death, showing visible glee at the bloodbath that was about to begin. After his second stint in prison — and after regretting what he had done — he received the help he needed and managed to reintegrate into society. Although he tends to remain silent and his emotional tension is still evident at times, it seems to be better managed. As an adult, Kazutora has fully recovered and is able to lead a normal life; he shows remorse for his past actions and deep down is incredibly loyal to both ToMan and Mikey, so much so that in an alternate timeline, he became distraught when ToMan was corrupted by the Black Dragon's money and fought fiercely to dismantle them alongside Chifuyu. In the last timeline —before Takemichi returned to the past for what appears to be the final time— Kazutora was the first to approach and support him in his quest to find Mikey, showing concern for Hanagaki's status and that of his wedding, proving that Kazutora is not blindly loyal to Mikey, but is capable of caring for others properly. Also in this same timeline, Kazutora is much closer to Chifuyu, so much so that they opened a pet shop together, seeming calmer and more stable than before. At the end of the manga, a relaxed and happier Kazutora is shown, smiling broadly alongside Baji and Chifuyu, with whom he works at a pet store.

Fighting Skill Kazutora is a competent and fierce fighter, he was able to easily beat up Hansen, the Bloody Halloween supervisor who was a notorious criminal, in just two hits (one to the face and one to the stomach), leaving him on the ground wincing in pain, shocking everyone at what he had done. During Bloody Halloween, with the help of two other Valhalla members, Kazutora was able to hit Mikey over the head with a pipe, knocking him unconscious for a short period of time. This is an incredible feat in itself, as Mikey is capable of destroying entire gangs by himself and Kazutora landed quite the blow on him. In combat, Kazutora, like Baji, is unrestrained and incredibly violent, being more vicious than the latter. Theft Kazutora is skilled at theft. When attempting to steal a motorcycle, he carefully placed tape on the glass of a door to muffle the sound, allowing him to enter without attracting attention. Influence Kazutora has a lot of influence considering that he is the number 3 of Valhalla and the leader of the anti-ToMan force within the gang. He has the ability to give orders to high-ranking members such as Chonbo and Chome and also to lower-ranking subordinates. Kazutora is also one of the founders of the Tokyo Manji and the former leader of the ToMan Attack Unit along with Baji. He gained a great deal of respect when he was in reform school and used this influence to create the anti-ToMan force. Taking all of this into account, Kazutora has a greater influence in the criminal world compared to some of the Toman captains.

Past History (Extras) After being neglected by his mother and feeling alone, Kazutora begins to hang out with gang members whom he calls friends, believing that those who will never betray him will be his friends. When he turns 11, he meets Baji, with whom he fights to defend Junpeke, whom he considered his friend. After this fight, Baji recognizes Kazutora's courage to protect his friends, even when they only use him for money, and ends up offering him his friendship. After learning that it is his birthday, Baji invites him to go crazy in Tokyo until his birthday is over. While they watch a car burn, Baji tells him that friendship is not about taking advantage of the other, and declares him his friend. Meeting the future founders It is Baji who introduces him to the future founders of ToMan. His first impression of Mikey is not good and he ends up calling him arrogant and selfish; having bad experiences and remembering his father, he goes on to firmly reject him, not understanding the loyalty they show towards him. Something that changes when Mikey defends him from his abusive father, after this Kazutora understands why everyone seems to love Mikey so much, however his fear of betrayal makes him leave the group to face his problems alone. After another event that would mark him, Mikey tells him that all his pain, suffering and difficulties are also his now as friends. From there, Kazutora becomes part of the group of friends.

Curiosities The name Kazutora means "one" (一) (kazu) and "tiger" (虎) (tora). Kazutora's surname, Hanemiya, means "feather" (羽) (hane) and "temple, shrine, palace" (宮) (miya). According to the official character book: He likes criminal goods. He doesn't like the members of ToMan. His special ability is pulling out a person's nails. The person he respects or admires is Manjiro Sano (Mikey). His dream was to kill Manjiro Sano (Mikey). Baji and Mikey are the most important people to him. His favorite place is the rooftop without railings. His happiest time was with the founders of ToMan. Before them he used to hang out with gang members who were his friends only for money, Her 11th birthday was the best birthday she ever had. After Kazutora took Junpeke's earring, Baji happily took him home and pierced his ear so he could show it off. He hated his face (probably because of the resemblance to his parents) and tried to look tough, however Baji called him "cute" while having friendly fun with him.
