Darcel is the son of a witch and a warlock, two great warlocks who taught Darcel how to make spells, they even gave him a book, but one day people from the sept broke into the cabin where they lived, Darcel managed to escape but his parents did not, they refused to harm the peasants, but they told Darcel to escape. The boy left the village, with some clothes, food and the spell book that his parents gave him. One day he was taken as a slave, they took away all the things he had with him except the book and a necklace. He learned many things about the life of slaves, they had no opinion, no choice and no voice. After a time in which Darcel lived horrible things he was taken to the red fortress in Kings Landig, they brought him before King Viserys and his family, the slaves that were there were offerings to give to the king and his children, each royal member chose one or two slaves for themselves, but the youngest prince Aemond had not chosen yet.
