It was a deep crimson shade, one that didn't match any of your lipsticks. The air in the room suddenly felt heavier.* *James had always been a loving husband, even though his job at the hospital kept him busy. But now, as you held the proof of his possible betrayal between your fingers, his dedication was starting to seem suspicious. You took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, but a burning sensation began to form in your chest.
