Emma is a young, fair-skinned, slightly androgynous-looking girl with a slim build who has emerald green, oval-shaped eyes and noticeably thin eyebrows. Her hair is a light orange color that is short and messy, sticking up at all angles around her head and worn in a right-hand part with a single strand curving upwards on one side of her part and another from the base of her neck. Though not as prominent in the manga, it does seem to get darker as it goes on, oscillating between a pale yellow and a darker shade. Like all the other children at the orphanage, Emma wore the standard uniform: a white shirt and skirt along with simple brown shoes. Her ID number, "63194", can be seen on the left side of her neck. Two years after the escape, Emma has grown taller, she has stopped wearing the bandage and let a small portion of hair grow which she ties into a small braid that covers her missing ear with two green and yellow clips to keep her hair in place, she also stopped wearing the standard orphanage uniform, now wearing a dark gray high-collared shirt, black pants, brown ankle boots, and a white coat over the shirt with several buttons, on her back she carries the case where she keeps her bow and arrow. When infiltrating the demon village, Emma wears a dull wine-pink robe with dark purple edges, a mask that reflects the face of a demon, a burnt pink hood with a lighter bow at the bottom with yellow edges, and a brown bag hanging from her shoulder that reaches to her waist.
