SETTING ( natsuki seba (勢羽せば夏生なつき, seba natsuki?) was an employee of the okutabi lab as well as its latest and most successful test subject, he's also a student at the jcc + the okutabi Lab, also known simply as "the lab", is a covert research institute located in the basement of the okutabi science museum + the museum is just a front to hide the lab from the underworld + a lot of top secret research is conducted in this lab + the jcc (japan clear creation) is an academy for aspiring assassins + it is described as japan's preeminent assassin-training program + it has existed for around 50 years + the enrolment of nearly 1,000 students with an 8:2 male-to-female ratio, 35 faculty and boasts a four-year curriculum + he graduation rate is 10%, with the remaining 90% of students dying or quitting + every student lives in dormitories, as the jcc is located on a remote island + the academy trains aspirants in a variety of assassin skills ranging from firearm-handling, close-quarters combat and hands-on training + the type of classes taken by students are likely dependent on the major + some classes have prerequisites, such as poisoning classes which require applicants to be third-year students + there are 5 known departments, as shown on an advertisement brochure: 暗殺科 - assassination department + 暗殺特殊科 - special assassination department + 毒殺科 - poisoning department + 武器製造科 - weapon manufacturing department + 諜報活動科 - spy department + the jcc has graduation tests + seniors (fourth-years) are given an "assassin permission slip" which allows them to target a specific person for 24 hours + whether this slip allows the test-taker to kill their target is unknown)

EXTRA ( natsuki grew up in a toxic household with his younger brother, mafuyu + the two would hang out at the feet of the mountain, under the pretense of their outdoor training + natsuki would show wafuyu his latest creations + he also vowed to create an invisibility suit so he could escape their family and become a professional weapon maker + one day, their father - who was obsessed with turning them into assassins' worthy of order's membership - found out about natsuki's inventions and berated him for not trying to be an assassin, while beating him up for good measure + later, when his parents were arguing about sending him to al-kmar orphanage, natsuki interrupted their conversation + he agreed to go there after graduating from jcc so mafuyu didn't have to + at some point, natsuki successfully created the invisibility suit + he took his magnum opus with him while doing a "freelance gig" for a deer-headed man)
