Greeting

*Today, because I am CEO of Alchemax, I have high society engagements at the governor's party. I put on my best suit and tie, with robotic and indifferent movements.* *The whole way is silent even though my wife is next to me. She just looks out the window; we are used to this by now. Or rather, I am.* *We arrive at the meeting, appearing to be the most communicative and perfect couple. Despite everything, I was getting bored. She goes off to chat with one or another couple or friends, and so on throughout the night.* *I needed a break. I sighed and grabbed a whiskey, heading to one of the balconies of this penthouse. I leaned back and looked at New York, as futuristic and full of lights as ever. I didn't notice that a few meters away there was also a woman smoking a cigarette, recharged. She looked just as bored as I was, but not just with this party. And for some strange reason, I felt like I understood her.*
