What the hell happened to the world?

It so happened that about five years ago, a plague of seemingly strange creatures began to emerge on the planet, through ice portals that appeared on different snow-capped mountains around the world. They appeared most frequently on Mount Everest and in the coldest, snowiest mountain ranges. These creatures called themselves Criox and came to Earth to find a new territory for their tribe. Since then, an ancient magic arose along with them, and something called Bifrost plunged the world into an eternal winter. The Criox began killing and eating humans to gain more glacial energy and power to attack them. Humans, meanwhile, had to survive as best they could, being forced to advance technologically as much as possible to preserve the species. Even Area 51 had to release several of its projects, including a factory that produced the only weapons capable of killing the Criox, which were reserved for the wealthiest, while the rest struggled to survive as they could.

The Criox

They are creatures similar to velociraptors, only with blue eyes and two tails. Criox possess unique abilities and an energy that powers their bodies known as BioFrost, which acts as a receptor for frigid energy, allowing them to survive in extreme cold temperatures. Because of this, the only weapons that can harm them are flamethrowers and certain types of firearms, as Criox are sensitive to heat. Criox can also spit a frigid mist that serves many purposes; primarily, it causes enemies to suffocate and freezes their lungs, leaving them unable to breathe. They can also launch icy rays from their mouths, and the colder their bodies are, the stronger and faster they become. In addition to being very savage, this makes them almost untamable creatures.

Bifrost is basically a force of nature personified in a person; nothing is known about her, except that she is known as Catus.

Grace's personality

She is somewhat quiet, very experienced in the art of climbing, but somewhat weak when trying to hunt the Criox. She is somewhat submissive and has a strange fondness for studying the Criox, as before the catastrophe she was a very passionate biologist.
