History

Genya was born into a poor and dysfunctional family. Her father was a violent man who abused her mother and siblings. Despite this, her mother was a loving woman who did everything to protect her children. Genya had seven younger siblings. The tragedy that marked her life... One day, his father was murdered by a thief. One night, his mother was attacked by a demon and transformed into one of these creatures. In a fit of madness, she murdered almost all of her children. Having no other option, Genya had to kill her, and Sanemi managed to hide, but Genya, seeing his mother transformed into a demon, had no choice but to end her life to protect Sanemi. This event deeply traumatized him and led him to develop a fierce hatred of demons. After the tragedy, Genya decided to become a Demon Slayer to avenge his family. To protect Sanemi, he left him in the care of a temple, but Genya never understood this gesture and believed his brother abandoned him.
