Main Characters edit Izuku Midoriya (緑谷出久, Midoriya Izuku)[1] Also known as Deku, he is the protagonist of the series and the ninth user of One For All. Despite being born without a Quirk, he has always wanted to be a hero like All Might. To this end, he has studied the powers of both professional heroes and villains. After being saved by All Might, Midoriya asks him if he can become a hero even if he has no Quirk. After initially saying no, All Might is moved by Izuku's attitude in rushing to save his childhood friend from a villain, when not even All Might himself thought he was capable of saving him. The hero then says that he will pass on to him the power of One For All, passed down through generations for decades, and which accumulated the energy of all users who had ever used it and gave the current user the ability to release it, granting him superhuman strength, agility and resistance, but causing enormous collateral damage to an untrained body like Izuku's. As the story develops, Deku learns to control his power more and more. He is very shy when it comes to women, in the case of Uraraka.

In a passage of the manga, with the purpose of freeing Tenku Shimura from the influence of All for One, Midoriya leaves UA with the professional heroes and leaves a farewell letter for his friends. Midoriya now almost mastering the other Quirks of the other former heroes who inherited One for All, he went to do good but hiding his face without revealing his identity, but he also received help from the other heroes, especially All Mighty. He also comes across Lady Nagant, who has the Sniper Quirk. Midoriya manages to dominate her and tries to persuade her to tell him where All for One is and asks her to give up being a villain, but All for One detonates Lady Nagant, leaving her body burned. Midoriya goes to the base where All for One would be and sees a screen in which All for One is saying that he is destabilizing Midoriya, making him lose himself and becoming another person. To stop him, it took his companions from the UA Academy to stop him and they managed to stop him. Midoriya was all worn out due to using the power of One for All.

Toshinori Yagi (八木 俊典, Yagi Toshinori), better known as All Might (オールマイト, Ōrumaito)[1] was the number 1 hero and the eighth user of the One For All power, now retired. During his time as a hero, All Might has a stereotype of an American hero like those in the comics, tall, muscular, always wearing a huge smile and with a positive attitude, being considered the symbol of peace. During the rest of his time, he has an excessively thin appearance and frequently bleeds from the mouth. He became Midoriya's "trainer" when he decided to pass his power on to him after seeing a great heroic inclination in the boy. He is also a teacher at UA, a school for training heroes, where he teaches a subject called Fundamental Hero Studies. All Might has the power of super strength, agility and endurance provided by One For All, although the power has become increasingly weak after a near-fatal injury suffered in a battle a few years ago, only being able to maintain his muscular form for a few hours a day. His powers became even weaker when he passed his Quirk on to Izuku, and completely disappeared when he made excessive use of them in the fight against the villain All For One.

Katsuki Bakugo (爆豪勝己, Bakugō Katsuki)[1] Also known as Kazinho (Ka-chan), he was Midoriya's childhood friend and classmate. He has a very aggressive personality, often demonstrating a superiority complex and a tendency to insult, and began bullying Midoriya after he failed to manifest his powers. His Quirk is to manifest explosions from the sweat on his body. He is much more intelligent than he appears to be, and like Midoriya, he is a fan of All Might and also wants to be a number 1 hero. Later on, he chooses the hero name Dynamight. He later discovers that Midoriya received the power of One For All, even when All Might lost his power, All Might makes it clear to Bakugo not to reveal how Midoriya received his powers to his classmates, so as not to compromise the identity of his power, even to the villains. Due to his explosive temper, he seems to have the qualifications to be the villain. In one part of the manga, Bakugo was forced to stop Midoriya who had lost his powers along with his friends. He later apologizes to Midoriya because he felt jealous of the fact that he had no powers.

Students of UA High School edit First-Year Students edit Class 1-A Students edit With Midoriya edit Ten'ya Iida (飯田天哉, Īda Ten'ya)[1] He is one of the protagonists of the anime. Well-mannered and serious, Iida always thinks rationally and because of this ends up becoming the class leader at UA where he studies. Iida's Quirk is a combustion engine naturally attached to his calves, granting him enormous speed and can alternate between first, second and third gear. He becomes a friend and great admirer of Midoriya. Iida comes from a historic family of heroes, and inherits the name from his now retired brother, the hero Ingenium, who was hospitalized due to the Hero Killer attack. Midoriya shows Iida the meaning of what it means to be a hero. Ochaco Uraraka (麗日お茶子, Uraraka Ochako)[1] Better known by her hero name, Uravity, Uraraka is one of the protagonists of the anime along with Midoriya. She is incredibly powerful, a UA student who meets Midoriya on the first day of the entrance test, when she uses her power to keep Midoriya from falling to the ground, in the way she sees Midoriya, the "Cool Girl". In this same test, Uraraka ends up being saved by Midoriya and thus they created a strong bond. Quite cheerful and smiling, her power consists of removing the effect of gravity on any object, including herself, through touch, causing them to become light and float. When she exceeds the limits of her powers or uses them on herself for too long, Uraraka vomits. She seems to be conflicted in her feelings for Midoriya. The only person Midoriya accepts being called Deku, which meant "I can" unlike Bakugo who said "Impossible to achieve", which gave Midoriya the idea to use the hero name.

Shoto Todoroki (轟焦凍, Todoroki Shōto)[2] is a student at UA who entered via recommendations, not needing to take admission tests, as he has an exorbitant talent due to his forced training with his father, the current number 1 hero Endeavor (Enji Todoroki). Todoroki has a cold personality, resulting from his harsh upbringing. He is quite experienced in the battlefield being able to remain calm even when fighting real villains. Shoto can produce ice from his right side and fire from his left side, although at first he only used the ice power inherited from his mother, due to the hatred he developed for his father since he deprived him of a normal childhood, abusing him and training him excessively, as he saw him as a mere tool to surpass All Might. Shoto has a burn around his left eye, from when his mother, maddened and disgusted by his resemblance to his father, threw boiling water towards his face. Shoto has a cold and distant personality, due to his harsh upbringing. He is quite unchanging during battles, and can remain calm even when fighting villains. Although he is brutal in battle, he is well aware of the ethics of heroism, only wishing to subdue his opponents. After the Sports Festival, Shoto still has a distant attitude, but he has become noticeably more sociable and shows his smile more often, and is slowly gaining a sense of humor thanks to Midoriya. Contrary to conventional wisdom, Shoto only uses his first name as his hero name. He also starts hanging out with Iida, Midoriya, and Uraraka.

With Bakugo edit Eijiro Kirishima (切島鋭児郎, Kirishima Eijirō)[3] Better known by his hero name, Red Riot, is a student at UA, in the same class as Midoriya. He has the power to Harden and Stiffen his body as if it were a solid rock. He is a close friend of Bakugo, even though the other does not like to admit it. He has a lively and enthusiastic personality, as well as calm and quiet. He is always willing to prove his courage, often taking actions that he considers "manly". His biggest goal is to be like his idol, Crimson Riot. He had a relationship with Mina Ashido, a classmate from the place where he studied, as he even has a crush on her. Denki Kaminari (上鳴電気, Kaminari Denki)[3] Also known by his hero name, Stun Gun Hero "Chargebolt" (Stun Gun Hero "Charged Lightning"), a UA student who has the ability to electrify his body, emitting an electric aura that shocks anyone who enters its radius. If he uses his power enough, his brain becomes electrocuted and he short-circuits for a while, maintaining a dumbfounded expression and both thumbs up. He is not very smart in conventional classes. He has a weakness for women. He can amplify his powers thanks to Kyoka Jiro.

Asui, or Tsuyu as she prefers to be called, is a very calm and extremely sincere girl who has powers similar to those of a frog. She can jump very high, stick out her tongue quite a bit, swim well, store objects in her stomach, secrete an irritating substance from her skin, and can camouflage herself. She also claims to be able to remove her stomach to wash it, although she has never been shown doing so. Hanta Sero ( Sero Hanta ) [ 5 ] Another student from 1-A, he is an energetic, lucky boy with a rather plain face. He is thinner and much shorter than most of the characters. He has a very perverted personality, always eyeing the students at the academy where he studies, just like Denki. Quite intelligent and also fearful, Mineta has the gift of producing very sticky spheres that stick to his head. The spheres stick to any surface, except Mineta's skin. Depending on his mood, they can stay stuck to something for up to a whole day. If Mineta uses too many spheres, he bleeds, often used for comic relief in the story. Momo Yaoyorozu ( Eight Million One Hundred , Yaoyorozu Momo ) [ 4 ] Also known by her hero name: Everything Hero: Creati. Also a student at UA, Yaoyorozu is the vice-leader of Class 1-A. She has a very advanced intellect for her age as well as being one of the most talented in her class. Like Todoroki, she entered UA by recommendation rather than taking the entrance exam. With the ability to create almost any type of non-living matter

from any part of her body using her body fat, she is quite confident in her power. To create the object, Momo needs to know its chemical composition and needs to idealize how it will be made in her mind.

Fumikage Tokoyami [ 4 ] Also known by his hero name, Tsukuyomi (in reference to the Shinto lunar deity, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto ), is a student at UA, from class 1-A (the same as Midoriya) who has the power to control his shadow, which has its own consciousness, nicknamed "Dark Shadow". He has a peculiar crow's head that is still a mystery. His shadow is measured in strength according to the local luminosity. However, the darker the environment, the more difficult it will be for Tokoyami to control his power, and he can give in to anger and destroy everything around him. He is one of the most powerful students in the class. His personality is neutral, tending to speak little and remain well-behaved. His superhero outfit consists of a cape that he uses to preserve the darkness, giving more power to the Dark Shadow. Yuga Aoyama [ 2 ] Also known by his hero name, Shining Hero: Can't Stop Twinkling, he is a UA student who is training to become a professional hero. He has the power to shoot a laser beam from his belly button. If he uses this power too much, he gets a stomachache. Toru Hagakure ( Hagakure Toru ) [ 5 ] Also known by her hero name, Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl, she is a UA student who has the power to be invisible, which also gives her the ability to refract light. The only thing you can see of her are her clothes: her school uniform when she goes to class or just her gloves and shoes when she "wears" her hero uniform. Ibara Shiozaki [ 6 ] A girl whose Quirk is called Vine (ツル, Tsuru ) , allowing Ibara to produce vines from her hair, which she can extend and use in combat. Ibara is a very modest and courteous person. While graceful and soft-spoken, she is not afraid to reveal her pure intentions. Kyoka Jiro ( Kyoka Jiro ) [ 2 ] A UA student whose earlobes are shaped like headphone plugs, as well as the Headphones she wears, which she can plug into any object to hear vibrations in the environment and find out if there are people or anything nearby, as well as having the ability to emit her own heartbeat at absurd volumes. Kyoka has a pragmatic, unenthusiastic personality and is rude to those she finds annoying. Heroine name: Ear Jack. She also amplifies Denki Kaminari's powers. Mashirao Ojiro (尾白猿夫, Ojiro Mashirao ) [ 5 ] He is a UA student. Very calm, kind, and with a deep sense of dignity. Ojiro has a very strong and robust tail that he uses as a third arm to attack or do various other things. The downside of this gift is that it is always enabled, which makes it difficult to sit or lie down. Hero Name: Tailman. Mezo Shoji ( Shoji Eye Collection ) [ 2 ] He is a UA student who aims to become a professional hero. Shoji has tentacles that allow him to make copies of parts of his body, such as eyes, arms, mouth, ears, or other parts. He is physically stronger and taller than most of the other students. He has the power to increase his strength by 5 times for every 10 grams of sugar he consumes. It lasts for three minutes. His hobby is cooking, which he developed as a way to test the applications of his power. Hero name: Sugarman. Mina Ashido ( Mina Ashido ) [ 2 ] A girl from Class 1-A with pink hair and lilac skin. She uses the hero name Pinky, after her initial idea

Alien Queen, was rejected, given the name of the DC villain Batman, henchman of the Joker.Kōji Kōda (口田甲司, Kōda Kōji )A student whose Quirk allows him to talk to animals. He has rock-like skin and is extremely shy, preferring to talk to animals rather than his peers.

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu ( Tetsutetsu ) [ 6 ] A student who was initially Eijiro's rival due to their similar Quirks. His Quirk Steel (スティール, Sutīru ) allows Tetsutetsu to temporarily turn his skin into steel. Tetsutetsu is defined by his very stubborn and outspoken personality. He is confident, headstrong, and very straightforward in his motivations and actions. He also becomes sociable with Eijiro due to having similar Quirks. Hiryū Rin ( Rin Hiryū ) [ 6 ] Hiryu's Quirk allows him to grow strong and durable reptilian scales from his skin. These scales protect him like armor; he can also throw these scales with considerable force and speed. Sufficient force can shatter Hiryu's scale armor. Jūrōta Shishida (宍田 ジャケタ, Shishida Jūrōta ) [ 6 ] Jurota's Quirk allows him to transform into a large, monstrous beastman. This monster form drastically increases his strength, speed, and durability, as well as his senses of hearing and smell. While he transforms, he becomes more savage, making him reckless. Jurota appears to be an intellectual, as he uses a rather verbose form of speech and often addresses others by respectful titles such as 'sir' and 'miss'. This is because he was raised in a very well-mannered and affectionate family. While transformed, Jurota is quite boisterous and energetic, which is likely a side effect of his Quirk. Jūzō Honenuki (骨抜柔造, Honenuki Jūzō ) [ 6 ] Juzo's Quirk allows him to soften any non-living thing he touches. For example, he can soften the ground to make it resemble quicksand, making movement and mobility difficult. If Juzo makes contact again, he can undo the effect. He is also able to swim through softened materials.

Manga Fukidashi ( Fukidashi Manga ) [ 6 ] Manga's Quirk allows him to materialize words out of thin air and speak them. These words are onomatopoeias (words that describe sounds) that can manifest the effects of the phenomenon the sound suggests. The only downside is that overuse of his Quirk can cause him to have an incredibly sore throat. Nirengeki Shōda ( Shoda Two-Strike ) [ 6 ] Nirengeki's Quirk allows him to cause the point of contact to receive a second impact at the site of any initial impact. The second impact is several times stronger than the initial blow. He can also use his Quirk on objects to send them flying at opponents or to send potential weapons flying away. Nirengeki has a very humble attitude, as he will not take credit for something he feels he did not achieve with his own strength. He is good friends with Tenya Iida and complimented Ashido on his punch afterwards, implying that he is mature and does not hold grudges. Pony Tsunotori ( Pony ) [ 6 ] Pony's Quirk gives her a pair of horns on her head. She is able to launch her horns as projectiles and a new set will grow almost immediately. She can remotely control up to four of them at a time. Pony is a shy girl. Due to being a foreigner (she is North American), she does not have much knowledge of the Japanese language. She is shown to be quite naive and innocent in personality, learning nasty phrases from Neito Monoma without realizing what those words mean, as shown when Neito tells Pony rude phrases to tell Class 1-A.

Kinoko Komori ( Komori Kinoko ) [ 6 ] Kinoko's Quirk allows her to spread various types of fungal spores from her body. The spores will quickly grow into adult mushrooms once they come into contact with a solid surface. The mushrooms can grow on various surfaces, including Kinoko's surroundings, her own body, and even her opponent's body. They only last for 2 to 3 hours. The spores spread best in a moist environment. Kinoko has her eyes hidden by her front bangs and has a sullen expression, suggesting that she is very shy. Bondo Kojiro ( Bondō Kojiro ) [ 6 ] Kojiro's Quirk allows him to spray large amounts of a quick-drying glue-like liquid from the seven holes on his face. The liquid is sticky and can be used to bind people and attach things to each other. It is stated that he can control the speed at which his adhesive dries. Described as a gentle giant, Kojiro has been shown to be a "shrinking violet" compared to the rest of his classmates, similar to Koji Koda of Class 1-A. Kōsei Tsuburaba [ 6 ] Kosei's Quirk allows him to solidify any air he breathes, allowing him to create invisible walls and/or platforms. The size of the wall or platform depends on his lung capacity. Initially, these walls and platforms were not very strong, as Bakugo was able to break a wall as if it were made of glass using only his bare fist, without injury. Kosei is a very enthusiastic and competitive individual, who tries to hold himself to a high standard while making an effort to avoid stooping to the level of his rivals.

Reiko Yanagi (柳 レイ子, Yanagi Reiko ) [ 6 ] Reiko's Quirk allows her to telekinetically control nearby objects. The weight limit of her Quirk is roughly that of an average human. Reiko is a quiet, emotionless teenager who often displays an odd body posture, in which she keeps her elbows at her sides and lets her hands dangle, which resembles ancient depictions of zombies, ghosts, and other undead creatures, alluding to her Quirk. Sen Kaibara ( Rotational Spiral , Kaibara Sen ) [ 6 ] Sen's Quirk allows any part of his body to spin like a drill. The effects of this Quirk transform Sen's limbs into something akin to large rotary tools. This enhances his hand-to-hand combat abilities significantly. Sen is a level-headed person who remains calm and focused on many occasions. He has also shown to be more mature than Neito Monoma, telling the latter to stop teasing Class 1-A's Bakugo and focus on his objective during the Cavalry Battle. Setsuna Tokage [ 6 ] Setsuna's Quirk allows her to split her body into up to 50 pieces. Each of these split pieces is capable of levitating and moving freely through the air. Setsuna's pieces can also regenerate if they are destroyed or rendered unusable. Her Quirk's ability to regenerate is very exhausting for her, which is why she prefers to remember as many of her body parts as possible to conserve her energy. Setsuna is described as talkative, confident, and extremely provocative and talkative. She is one of the few students in Class 1-B who does not harbor any apparent hatred for Class 1-A.Reiko Yanagi (柳 レイ子, Yanagi Reiko ) [ 6 ] Reiko's Quirk allows her to telekinetically control nearby objects. Shihai Kuroiro ( Black Domination , Kuroiro Shihai ) [ 6 ] Shihai's Quirk allows him to fuse his body with anything dark in color; whether it be naturally dark or darkened by external circumstances such as shadows. After enhancing his Quirk, he can move things said to be 'black', but at the same time is limited to the black things that are normally capable of moving. As such, he was able to fuse with Fumikage's Dark Shadow and quickly take control over it to attack Fumikage. Shihai is a cunning and treacherous schemer, who prefers to catch people off guard. He seems to enjoy dark concepts and has a penchant for dramatic speech, similar to Fumikage Tokoyami of Class 1-A. Togaru Kamakiri ( Sickle Point , Kamakiri Togaru ) [ 6 ] Togaru's Quirk allows him to produce large blades from any part of his body. These blades are sharp and strong enough to cut through steel and iron pipes, and durable enough to withstand a point-blank explosion. He has the appearance of a human-insect hybrid. He has an aggressive personality, though not as aggressive as that of Bakugou from Class 1-A. Yosetsu Awase [ 6 ] Yosetsu's Quirk gives him the ability to fuse objects together at an atomic level, though he must touch the two objects to fuse them. This Quirk is effective on both organic and inorganic materials. Yosetsu is foul-mouthed and high-strung, except in serious or life-or-death situations, in which he is easily startled and becomes much more talkative, though he retains his gruff manner of speech. Yui Kodai [ 6 ] Yui's Quirk grants her the ability to alter the size of non-living objects she interacts with. It appears to be activated by Yui touching her fingertips. Yui is very reserved and quiet.

Other First Year Students edit Hitoshi Shinsō (心動人士, Shinsō Hitoshi ) [ 6 ] A student of Class 1-C, Hitoshi is a stoic and straightforward person with an innate ability to start conversations with anyone, despite maintaining a reserved and quiet demeanor most of the time. He is shown to be quite intelligent, being able to manipulate others into responding to his words, allowing him the opportunity to activate his Quirk. Hitoshi's Quirk, Brainwashing, allows him to put someone into a state where the victim is forced to obey everything he commands. He can only activate this power when his target responds to him verbally. Brainwashing needs to be activated intentionally and will not take effect if Hitoshi does not want it to. Mei Hatsume [ 6 ] A student in Class 1-H, Mei is a fairly short girl with a rather mature build. Mei is a smart and assertive girl who often makes those around her uncomfortable. She loves creating gadgets, which she calls her "super cute babies". Mei's Quirk, Zoom, allows her to zoom in on anything that is in her line of sight. If she really concentrates, Mei can see things up to five kilometers away. She also sometimes exaggerates to the point of making her classmates uncomfortable.

Third Year Students (Big Three) edit Mirio Togata (通形 ミリオ, Tōgata Mirio ) [ 7 ] He is a student of Class 3-B and is part of the Big Three. Mirio was originally the top candidate to become All Might's successor and the inheritor of One For All before the latter met Izuku Midoriya. Mirio usually appears as an extremely goofy and energetic individual, with some peculiar habits. Based solely on his personality, many tend to question how Mirio is one of the best students at U.A. Mirio has a very optimistic attitude and can almost always be found smiling. He has shown himself to be as determined as Midoriya in trying to save Eri from Kai Chisaki, aka Overhaul. Tamaki Amajiki (天喰 玉, Amajiki Tamaki ) [ 7 ] He is a student of Class 3-A and is part of the Big Three. Tamaki is extremely shy, aloof, depressed, "intimidating", and introverted, especially around the public. He gets nervous very easily when talking to others. If his anxiety gets the best of him, Tamaki will often turn around and lean against a wall to hide his face from others. This also happens whenever Tamaki has a bad feeling or feels insulted. Despite his personality, Tamaki has shown to be quite strong, analytical, and perceptive in battle, defeating three Yakuza members in combat with incredible mastery of his gift and abilities. He was a classmate of Mirio's where he studied and is a friend.

Nejire Hadō ( Twisted Wave ) [ 7 ] She is a student of Class 3-A and is part of the Big Three. Nejire is naturally a very kind, talkative, and endlessly curious girl. She shows great interest in people's unique physical characteristics and is easily distracted by them. Because of this, Nejire can be very direct, often asking invasive or unpleasant questions. Nejire is a warm-hearted and "free-spirited" person, someone who has a genuine passion for learning new and strange things and is not afraid to speak her mind or show how she feels. As a heroine, her hair strands take the shape of horns.

UA College Teachers edit Shota Aizawa ( Aizawa Shōta ) / Eraserhead ( Eraser Head ) [ 1 ] He is a professor at UA, acting as a direct teacher for Class 1-A. Also known as Eraser-head, he has the power to nullify people's gifts just by looking at them, with the exception of mutant classes. He is an excellent hand-to-hand fighter, with concepts of martial arts and shinobi included, in addition to using special belts. He has a calm personality that is at the same time serious and direct, demonstrating sharp intellect by always analyzing situations coldly, and does not appreciate anything that could be considered a waste of time. His eyes are always dry and red because of his gift, which requires them to always be open, which is why he is always tired or sleeping.
