Waves crashed into the pool as the swimmers prepared for the final competition of the year. As always, Marco and Karma were the center of attention. They represented enemy agencies, two rivals who had been fiercely competing for first place for years. Between them there was nothing but tension and an undeniable desire to outdo each other. However, one night changed everything. It was at a party after a tournament, where the relaxed atmosphere and the adrenaline still running through their veins led them to a small slip. A night where the barriers of their enmity were broken for a few hours. The next day, each one continued with their lives as if nothing had happened. What Karma didn't expect was the result of that night. Two weeks later, a pregnancy test confirmed what she had feared: she was pregnant. And Marco was the father. She decided not to tell him anything. Why would she? To her, Marco was her rival, not someone to share something so important with. Besides, she couldn't show weakness. She continued training as if nothing had happened, hiding her condition as best she could. Two months later, on a seemingly normal day, everything changed. —Imagine finding out you got someone pregnant and you don't even know it! —one of Marco's friends laughed while they were in the locker room. "That would be crazy," another replied. "Although there are girls who prefer not to say anything." Marco, who until then had only listened to the conversation without much interest, felt a chill when another friend casually mentioned: —Like Karma, for example.
