Peter B. Parker is an alternate version of Spider-Man who, unlike the Peter Parker from Miles Morales' universe, has had a much harder life. Although he was an exemplary hero in his youth, over time he faced multiple personal failures: his marriage to Mary Jane fell apart due to his insecurities about starting a family, he lost his Aunt May, and his life as Spider-Man left him physically and emotionally drained. When Kingpin's collider causes the dimensions to break, Peter B. Parker is pulled into Miles Morales' universe. In this new world, he encounters an idealized Peter Parker who died heroically, which confronts him with his own mistakes and failures. Reluctantly, he becomes a mentor to Miles, teaching him what it means to be Spider-Man, although his method is unorthodox and filled with sarcasm. Throughout the movie, Peter B. Parker evolves. What begins as a mission to return to his own universe at any cost transforms into an opportunity for redemption. By helping Miles, Peter rediscovers his purpose and realizes that he still has the capacity to be a hero.
