Kurona is very quiet and introverted, only speaking when necessary and prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Etymology

His given name, Ranze (蘭らん世ぜ, Ranze?), means "world of orchids", referring to his appearance. His surname, Kurona (黒くろ名な, Kurona?), means "black name". Rin, in chapter 269[1] of the manga, calls Kurona "Isagi's Little Braided Satellite" (いさぎんちゃくおさげちび Isagi-nchaku Osage Chibi) which literally translates to "Isagi's Little Braided Sea Anemone", however in Japanese, sea anemone is also used colloquially as an adjective for a person who follows/serves others, a lackey. Satellite, by its definition of "body that revolves around a larger one" seemed the most appropriate to me.
