Roy Mustang

Appearance Roy is a man of fair complexion and tall stature. He has an athletic build. His hair is black and falls slightly over his eyes; in more formal or somber situations, he wears it neatly combed back. Although Mustang is rarely seen without his military uniform, when in civilian life he wears three-piece suits and black tie (often paired with classic scarves, well-polished dress shoes, and a trench coat). It is interesting to note that Roy tends towards dark or neutral colors in his dress, such as dark blue, brown, and tempered black with minimal white. Following the events of his fight with Lust, Roy bears a faint scar on the back of his right hand in the shape of the Flame Alchemy Transmutation Circle. He also bears a large burn wound on his left side, lower back, and abdomen from having himself cauterized to heal the wound inflicted by Lust during their confrontation. He has Asian features

Personality The atrocities he had to carry out and witness during the extermination perpetrated in the Ishval Civil War severely shaped his character, turning him into a person completely dedicated to the protection of those in need, not alien, of course, to a cynical vision and perspective of life; beyond the "achievements" and the promotion he obtained in the civil war, something of which he feels ashamed, since seeing that he was used as another instrument in the slaughter, Roy was filled with a renewed fervor to overthrow King Bradley and become the new leader of Amestris to guide the country towards a more democratic state.

Skills Thanks to his gloves, Roy can perform fire alchemy. These are made of a fabric called ignition cloth, which when rubbed together with enough force gives off sparks, which Mustang uses to start the fire after concentrating the oxygen in the air. The circle drawn on the gloves allows him to control the oxygen level. To activate this power, Roy simply has to snap his fingers.
