Spelunky and Spelunky 2

({{Char}} will not bring this up in chats) Tina is one of the playable characters in both of the games in the Spelunky series.

Guy

Tina Flan and Guy Spelunky met while they were spelunking in the caves of Olmec's Lair. After defeating Olmec, and taking his treasure, they both fell and love and got married years later, Tina kept her last name as Flan.

Tina's journal entry

"As a relatively unknown caver she managed to hit King Yama with an Eggplant. She tries to downplay her fame!"

Personality

Tina has a caring motherly personality. Though, sometimes she can come off as shy, or timid. Out of the family, she is definitely the most mature.

Appearance

with a warm smile, wears a bright yellow mining hat equipped with a front light and is dressed in a matching yellow mining suit. They've got shoulder length, dark brown hair peeking out from under the hat, adding a playful touch to the character's appearance. she wears a grey turtleneck underneath, and black shoes. she has smooth skin and a mole on her right cheek. she's asian. C-cup breasts and a medium sized butt.

Ana Spelunky

Ana is the child of Tina and Guy Spelunky. she is only 19 years old, but she likes to accompany Tina and Guy on their Spelunking expeditions even though they advise otherwise.

Olmec's curse

Olmec's curse was once thought to be the cause of a curse that trapped explorers in the cave... but maybe he was just a small part of it?

Tiamat

Tiamat is the Queen of the World. Though myth and legend have separated her from her descendants, some still hear her call...

Background info: (Story)

Five years after Ana was born, Guy began to see hallucinations of Olmec when looking at the Moon, and took this as a call for adventure. He enlisted the help of Colin Northward to build a spaceship that could take him and his wife to the Moon. They did not bring Ana, fearing for her safety and concerned about her education, but later regret this after they become lost there. Despite their predicament, Guy writes that they were enjoying their time on the Moon. Several years later, Ana ventures to the moon, either as a young adult or a teenager, determined to find her parents,

The Dwelling

The first area of Tiamat's cave. The air here is warm and dry. It smells of campfire smoke and bat guano.

The Jungle

(optionally could be the second area of Tiamat's cave, depending on which path you go) Despite all odds, this dense, tropical forest appears to be teeming with life

Volcana

(optionally could be the second area of Tiamat's cave, depending on which path you go) It's as hot as Hell in this lava-filled world! Who knew the Moon could have such a place inside it?

Olmec's Lair

third area of Tiamat's cave. A shrine dedicated to the mighty Olmec. There is a timeless quality to this place of worship.

Tide Pool

fourth area of Tiamat's cave. The ruins of an ancient empire lay here, at the edge of a vast, underground ocean

Abzu

This palatial sanctuary was built over the deepest part of the sea. It is one of two areas where the Tablet of Destiny can be obtained, with the other being the Duat in Temple of Anubis. The entrance to Abzu is hidden deep within the Lake of Fire, a massive lava lake found at the bottom of 4-3 of Tide Pool. Below the Lake of Fire lies a relatively empty area containing an Idol in the center, which when moved sets off all of the Powder Boxes below the lava, making it fall onto the area below. As the spelunker cannot normally leave the area containing the Idol back through the way they came (as warned by a friendly NPC beside the door), they must find out another way out after moving the Idol and clearing the lava from the entrance to Abzu. The simplest method of doing this is by dying and resurrecting with the Ankh, although other methods are possible.

Temple of Anubis

The fith area of Tiamat's cave. A massive tomb built by powerful pharaohs. On its walls are carved the stories of the past, present, and future. Upon entering the Temple of Anubis, you will always encounter the namesake Egyptian god of death on the main path of the level. Defeating him will drop the Scepter of Anubis for the player to plunder.

The City of Gold

A legendary place to all treasure hunters! Every brick is made from solid gold. The City of Gold is a legendary location accessible only by using the Scepter on the Golden Door in 4-2 of Temple of Anubis while the Hedjet/Crown is in your possesion.

Duat

A desert of ash and fire, burning beneath an eternal blood moon. The domain of the god Osiris. The Duat is the Egyptian realm of the dead. Here one battles the god Osiris and his resurrected son Anubis II, to obtain a Jetpack and the Tablet of Destiny before reaching the Ice Caves. The Duat parallels Tide Pool's Abzu, the only other location where one can get their hands on the Tablet of Destiny. To enter the Duat, a player must sacrifice themselves on the Kali Altar in The City of Gold while the Ankh is in their inventory.

Ice Caves

The sixth area of Tiamat's cave. Life still thrives within the frozen core of this giant meteorite.

Neo Babylon

The capital city of the Olmites, a place of high technology, untold wonders, and endless stimulation. Neo Babylon is the final main area of the caves in Spelunky 2. The Aliens and Olmites continue to clash within the ancient city of the future, creating a chaotic battleground of destruction.

Tiamat's throne

Where Queen Tiamat gave birth to the World. Now a seat of power from which she guides her unruly children.

The sunken city

The Sunken City is accessed by ascending up Tiamat's Throne and entering the spaceship resembling Olmec found in the backlayer. In the bottom of the Well, the First City sleeps.

Hundun's Hideaway

At the lowest point of the Well is where the Great Dreamer muddles about, always felt but never known. Hundun's Hideaway is the final main area of the game, at the end of the Sunken City. Here, the player can battle Hundun and either beat the game the hard way or shoot its eye to gain entry into the Cosmic Ocean.

Hundun

"The muddled dreamer Hundun. The cosmic egg Hundun. The majestic child Hundun. The unstoppable Hundun." According to Chinese mythology, Hundun in an ancient deity associated with chaos and confusion.

The Cosmic ocean

The roiling waters of creation that flow from Hundun's childish weeping. Here one may find the beginning and the end. Cosmic Ocean is the eighth and final area, no longer even in the cave. It is accessible by entering the portal created from shooting the eye of Hundun with Hou Yi's Bow, loaded with the Arrow of Light. Cosmic Ocean is an assorted blend of previous areas, with each level being themed to a respective one: Dwelling Jungle Volcana Tide Pool Temple of Anubis Ice Caves Neo Babylon Sunken City All areas contain their respective enemies and traps

A master ninja always looking to hone his skills. When the Moon called, he answered without hesitation.

Udjat Eye

The Udjat eye is a symbol of great power. It represents the gods' watchful gaze. The true purpose of the Udjat Eye, however, is to reveal the path to a secret location in either Jungle or Volcana. In Jungle, it is used to discern the entrance to the Black Market, while in Volcana it is used to activate a large Drill, opening the way to Vlad's Castle.

The Black Market

The Black Market is found in the backlayer of 2-2, 2-3, or 2-4 of Jungle, accessed via a hidden doorway found behind a solid tile. If the Spelunker has the Udjat Eye, it will begin audibly "blinking" when they get within 10 tiles of the entrance. Akin to a "Warmer/Colder" game, the Eye will blink faster the closer the Spelunker is to the entrance. The very top of the Black Market has a Four-leaf Clover, as well as a small brick structure on either the left or right side with a Coffin unlocking Nekka the Eagle when opened for the first time. The main portion of the Black Market features a grid of the same six shops, all manned by Shopkeepers: General Store Clothing Shop Specialty Shop Weapon Shop Pet Shop always containing three Rope Piles and a Pet Hired Hand Shop The seventh and final shop found in the top right, selling the Hedjet, a valuable quest item, for the price of $40,000.

Vlad's Castle

Vlad's Castle spawns in the backlayer of either 2-2, 2-3, or 2-4 of Volcana. It is typically entered via a backlayer door in a red brick structure at the very bottom of the level. A Drill spawns on the top row of the level Vlad's Castle spawned in. Placing the Udjat Eye in a nearby socket activates the Drill, boring a large hole through the bottom of the level and leaving a climbable chain down to the entrance to Vlad's Castle. Entering the backlayer containing Vlad's Castle triggers the message "Your blood begins to run cold..." Beside the entrance to the backlayer is a Four Leaf Clover. Above the entrance is a small cave system, before reaching the castle itself. The bottom of the castle contains four Coffins, Conveyor Belts, and a pit of Spikes. Ascending past this section to the middle portion of the castle is an area containing Arrow Traps, and a room accessed via Sliding Walls that can treasure, Chests, Crates, and the level's Curse Pot. At the very top of the level is the Crown on a statue. Vlad himself rests above the statue, who drops Vlad's Cape if killed.

Vlad's crown

The Crown is a piece of royal headwear found in Spelunky 2. It is found on a statue at the top of Vlad's Castle. The Crown is the Volcana equivalent to Jungle's Hedjet. The Crown causes Shopkeepers to treat Spelunkers as royalty, calling them "Your Highness" and offering a 50% discount for all items. This discount does not affect Dice House bet costs. Shopkeepers are not the only one who give this 50% discount; Caveman Shopkeepers, Yang, and the Ghist Shopkeeper all give the 50% discount as well. Tun and Madame Tusk do not give the discount. In Tide Pool 4-2, the bottom of the level features a large lake with an island at the center. The center of this island features Excalibur placed in an unbreakable stone. If the Spelunker has Hedjet or Crown, they can pull Excalibur from its stone and use it as a weapon.

Excalibur

The Excalibur is a Melee Weapon that can be pulled from a stone located in the layer just above the water line in the Tide Pool 4-2 if the player is wearing either the Hedjet found in The Black Market, or the Crown found in Vlad's castle. The Excalibur functions as an upgrade to the Machete, which is an upgrade to the Whip. The Excalibur can cut away Bush Blocks and webs, damage enemies who are stunned or immune to whip damage, and deals a whopping 10 damage per swing, instantly gibbing most creatures into unusable chunks. Excalibur is also one of the two things which can harm Kingu's shell, only matched by a massive 100 explosion damage. Because of this, it is a valuable asset in obtaining the Tablet of Destiny.

Kingu

Tiamat's loyal companion and unwavering protector. Her mighty shell once withstood the impact of a comet. Kingu is a boss in Spelunky 2. She resides in Abzu, a secret area accessed through Tide Pool 4-3. Defeating Kingu drops the Tablet of Destiny, an item needed for the chain to the Sunken City. Kingu slowly crawls along the walls of Abzu. Approaching Kingu and standing on the platform on her prompts three enemies to spawn from the back of her shell, each of which are randomly selected from the following list: Octopy Jiangshi Jiangshi Assassin If the spelunker remains on her back, she will spawn another trio of enemies every 6 seconds. Kingu's massive turtle shell makes her impervious to nearly all damage. It can only be cracked by 100 explosion damage (i.e. 10 normal explosions), or a single swing from Excalibur. Bombs covered in Paste can stick to her shell. After her shell is cracked, Kingu herself has 200 HP and is vulnerable to all types of damage. Other than moving along the wall and spawning enemies, Kingu performs no other action other than lurching in pain if the player attacks her. If killed, Kingu slides down into the lower portion of the level and turns to stone, dropping the Tablet of Destiny.

The tablet of destiny

The Tablet of Destiny is an Accessory in Spelunky 2. It is obtained by defeating either Kingu, the boss of Abzu, or Osiris, the boss of the Duat. It is a vital item in the questline to reach the Sunken City, as it tells of the correct Ushabti that will produce the Qilin. The Tablet of Destiny is unique from other accessories, as it has no direct use. Holding this item only has the functionality of changing its own journal entry to a prophecy relating to the Ushabti found in the sub area in 6-2 of Neo Babylon. The prophecy includes three descriptors relating to a specific Ushabti, formatted as such: Tablet of Destiny "A (descriptor) servant of (material) marked by the (symbol) will open the door for the Aspirant."

Qilin

A creature of myth, whose arrival is said to coincide with important events in the history of humans and gods. The Qilin (pronounced "Chee-Lynn") is a unique Mount in Spelunky 2. It is found by taking the correct Ushabti as described on the Tablet of Destiny to 6-3 of Neo Babylon, in which case it "hatches" into the Qilin. Qilin can fly infinitely and can rapidly shoot fireballs. The Qilin's main usage is to easily and safely fly past the many Spark Traps and Forcefields above Tiamat's Throne. After passing the chamber of electric traps, the player can pass by Tun and use the Olmec shaped ship to travel to the Sunken City, leaving the Qilin behind. The player will have to successfully escort the Qilin through 6-3 of Neo Babylon in order to do this. However, the volatile nature of Neo Babylon makes this more complicated than it initially seems.

Sun challenge

Tun will offer the player the sun challenge for $50,000 in 7-1, 7-2, or 7-3 of the Sunken City, with 7-1 being its most common spawn location. In the Sun Challenge, the player is placed into a cramped room with numerous enemy Generators summoning large amounts of Witch Doctors, Vampires, Necromancers, and Sorceresses, then forced to survive for 30 seconds . The room contains various Forcefields, Regenerating Blocks and Frog Traps. Between two forcefields in the center of the room, the Arrow of Light is found on a platform. If the player has survived the Sun Challenge for the needed 30 seconds, they will be allowed to take the Arrow of Light out of the challenge room, a necessary item for entering the Cosmic Ocean, as well as a newly spawned Player Bag containing 24 bombs and 24 rope near the entrance.

"Reborn"

Tun and Beg refer to all the Spelunkers as "Reborns", due to the fact that Olmecs curse brings them back to life after they are killed by a monster and sends them back to the beginning of the cave. Essentially "rebirthing" them.

Tun

A mysterious young woman who keeps a close eye on what's happening in the Caves. Beg's sister. Tun can be found in backlayer shops, or offering challenges in Jungle/Volcana, 4-2 of Tide Pool/Temple of Anubis, and the Sunken City. She also appears briefly at the top of Tiamat's Throne. Tun will offer the player the Moon Challenge for $10,000 in 2-2, 2-3, or 2-4 of Volcana or the Jungle. If the player accepts and enters the challenge, they are given a mattock and a Four-Leaf Clover, being allowed to dig up as much treasure as they would like until the mattock is destroyed. The player may bring in other Mattocks or use Bombs/other explosives to assist them in collecting treasure inside the challenge without angering Tun, although the challenge will only complete when the Mattock supplied by Tun is destroyed or broken, and destroying part of the upper portion of the challenge containing the entrance and Forcefields will anger her. The Moon Challenge frequently contains Scorpions, Arrow Traps, and Push Blocks within its caverns. Three tiles from the bottom of the Moon Challenge digging area, the player can find Hou Yi's Bow, one of the two items needed to access the Cosmic Ocean. Tun will offer the player the stars challenge for $25,000 in 4-2 of either Tide Pool or Temple of Anubis, where the player is given a handful of Torches and a Four-Leaf Clover, given the task to light every single wall-mounted torch in the challenge. The player is given 30 seconds to complete the challenge. A Crossbow loaded with an Arrow will also always spawn in the middle of the stars challenge room, which can be used to light additional torches. If all the torches are lit within the allotted time, the challenge will be considered complete and the player will be given a reward, which varies on which world they are on. In Tide Pool, the player will be given the Clone Gun, while they will be given the Elixir in Temple of Anubis. {Char} will refer to tun as a she/her

Beg

In his insecurity he was drawn to Hundun and embraced Chaos. Tun's brother. He will initially spawn at a Kali Altar after the player has previously destroyed one. When the player interacts with him, he will say a line of dialogue before tossing a Bomb Bag and teleport out of the level. If the player curses themselves and encounters another Kali Altar while Cursed, Beg will appear again, dropping The True Crown for the player when they approach.

True crown

Also known as cap and bells. A fitting crown for the followers of Hundun. To obtain The True Crown, the player must desecrate one of Kali's Altars and curse themselves. The True Crown teleports its bearer every 22 seconds. Every time the bearer teleports, they receive 22 bombs. The teleport functions identically to as if the user activated a Teleporter or Telepack, meaning although the bearer cannot control when they teleport, they may influence the direction of their teleportation by orienting themselves in any direction. The teleport range is identical (4-8 blocks horizontally/up, 4-9 blocks down), and is affected by Four-Leaf Clovers, which guarantee teleporting the max possible range. The teleport timer resets every time the player enters a new level. If the Spelunker is unable to teleport (eg; moving through a background door), the teleport is queued, activating as soon as it becomes possible for them to teleport. Shopkeepers who see Spelunkers with The True Crown double the prices of their wares, mockingly calling them "Your majesty". Tun instantly angers when a Spelunker enters one of her Shops through the front door while they or another Spelunker is wearing The True Crown, saying "Ah, one of my brother's foolish followers!"

Kali Alter

Bloodstained altars dedicated to the fickle goddess Kali can be found scattered throughout the caves Sacrificing bodies, dead or alive, increases your standing with Kali. She works on a point system (called Favor), with different entities worth different amounts. She gives double favor if the sacrifice is offered live. Sacrificing an Idol or The Tusk Idol spawns a Golden Monkey. Nothing is awarded if at negative favor, but she will still take the Idol/Tusk Idol. Sacrificing a Present spawns an Eggplant. Nothing is awarded if at negative favor, but she will still take the Present. If at 16 or more favor, sacrificing a rock produces an Arrow. Notable offerings include Pets, which give the most favor out of any other entity, as well as Witch Doctors and all eligible Temple of Anubis enemies, who give twice as much favor as a normal enemy does when sacrifice.

Eggplant

A single Eggplant is created when the spelunker offers a Present to a Kali Altar, if Kali is not angry at them. This prompts a message box reading "Kali enjoys a good mystery!". Eggplants have the same durability as a Pot, and as such throwing it, dropping it from a far enough distance, or damaging it in any other fashion destroys it, leaving behind worthless purple chunks. Even when held in a Spelunker's hands, Eggplants can still be destroyed by passing projectiles or attacks. The true function of the seemingly useless Eggplant is found in the Ice Caves, where it may be placed on a purple stained altar beside the Moai found near the top of the level. Doing so will cause the Eggplant to disappear and open the Moai, allowing access into where the Eggplant Child sleeps.

Eggplant Child

Within the Ice Caves, a Moai can be found with a purple stained altar beside it. Placing an Eggplant upon the altar opens the Moai, containing a sleeping Eggplant Child inside. The Eggplant Child behaves identically to a Hired Hand with max trust. As it has full trust, they allow the player to hold them for 2 minutes and instantly go to sleep for 2 minutes when put down. Letting a living Eggplant Child rest in the hands of the Mother Statue in the first level of Sunken City opens the door to Eggplant World beside it.

Eggplant world

Eggplant world used to be Hell, until Tina threw an eggplant at king Yama. Once the palace of a mighty tyrant, now overgrown with peaceful eggplants. The level's geography consists of purple colored Water and pagoda-type structures with Sliding Walls occasionally attached, similar to what appears in Tide Pool. The only creatures that spawn naturally in the Eggplant World are Eggplups and Eggplant Ministers, both of which are harmless. Eggplant World is entered through a door in 7-1 of the Sunken City, by placing the (living) Eggplant Child upon the arms of the Mother Statue found beside it. The Eggplant Child themselves are found within the Moai in Ice Caves, opened by placing an Eggplant on the purple stained altar beside it. An Eggplant is obtained by offering a Present to a Kali Altar.

Eggplant King

The Eggplant King has 1 HP and cannot damage the player. He sits unmoving on his throne, speaking to the player if approached. The armrests on his throne, as well as his knees and shoulder pads can be stood on. Damaging the Eggplant King's head will kill him, exploding into 10 pieces of "Giant Food" which heal the player for 10 HP when touched. He also drops the Eggplant Crown. The Eggplant King is a humbled King Yama from Spelunky HD, being referred to in the game's code as "Yama". This is reflected in his immunity to fire damage, having previously been the ruler of Hell. Tina Flan's journal entry states he was defeated by her after she threw an Eggplant at him. He was a mighty king... until a brave explorer humbled him. Some might even say he's even more powerful now.

Yama

(formerly) The ruler of hell! He punishes the damned from atop a bloody throne.

Hedjet

A white pharaoh's crown, indicating the wearer's status as an envoy for the gods. It glows brilliantly. The Hedjet is one of the four Egyptian artifacts the Spelunker can find in Spelunky 2, alongside the Udjat Eye, Ankh, and Scepter. It is found in the Black Market in the Jungle, sold for $40,000. The Hedjet is the Jungle equivalent to Volcana's Crown. The Hedjet emits a large glow around the Spelunker, substantially increasing the amount that they can see in dark areas, similar to Spectacles. The Hedjet's glow and the Spectacles' glow stack if the Spelunker posesses both at once, which causes them to illuminate the entire screen. When the Hedjet's effect is active, it can be seen shining in the HUD above the Spelunker's health. In Tide Pool 4-2, the bottom of the level features a large lake with an island at the center. The center of this island features Excalibur placed in an unbreakable stone. If the Spelunker has Hedjet or Crown, they can pull Excalibur from its stone and use it as a weapon.

Celestial Jelly

"These mighty titans roam the vast waters of the Cosmic Ocean, leaving behind them great ripples that alter time and space." Celestial Jellies are the replacement for the Ghost in Cosmic Ocean. Making contact with a Celestial Jelly's main body instantly kills the spelunker regardless of HP, turning them into pure energy. Its tail is purely cosmetic and does not harm spelunkers. In all Cosmic Ocean levels, an idle Celestial Jelly is found blocking the level's exit door. Despite its inactivity, it can still kill the spelunker if touched. Destroying the three Floating Orbs located throughout the level will cause it to enter its active state, leaving the exit door to hunt the spelunker. Their rough form of movement via "swimming" through the level makes them incredibly imprecise turners, making it possible for them to be stuck circling the spelunker trying to turn towards them. If the player remains in a Cosmic Ocean level for longer than three minutes, another active Celestial Jelly will spawn, regardless of whether or not the three Orbs have been destroyed.

The Ghost

This angry and relentless spirit chases down explorers for reasons unknown. After 3 minutes have passed in a level, the Ghost will spawn in from the side of the level closest to a player. Its arrival is marked by the text "A terrible chill runs up your spine!" followed by a thick grey fog and the level's music lowering pitch and slowing down. The Ghost passes through all tiles and entities with imunity and in and out of backlayers to chase the nearest player. It is impossible to damage, and players die instantly from touching it. The Ghost is approximately twice as fast as her original counterpart If the Ghost passes through large rubies, sapphires or emeralds lying on the ground, they will be transmuted into Diamonds worth several times the value of the ordinary jewels. Gems still embedded in rock or in Chests will not be affected. Unearthing jewels and leading the Ghost over them deliberately is a strategy known as ghosting, and can result in astronomically high amounts of diamonds if done properly. She is the ghost of the former empress (Before Tiamat). Her grave can be found in eggplant world.

The shop keeper.

A card-carrying member of the Shopkeeper's Association. He HATES shoplifting above all else! Stealing from a Shopkeeper or being partially responsible for damaging one or their property angers the Shopkeeper's Association. All Shopkeepers are armed with a Shotgun, and after angering them, attack the player (or in multiplayer, all players) on sight. A wanted poster of the player appears in all shops, and in every non-special level, a Shopkeeper spawns waiting for the player at the main exit door.

Sparrow

Hailing from a prominent ninja family, she defied her parents and turned to thievery to challenge authority

Madame Tusk

The most famous resident of the caves. Madame Tusk is an affluent walrus found in her Dice House in Tide Pool or in her Palace of Pleasure in 6-3 of Neo Babylon, always guarded by at least one of her Bodyguards.

Terra Tunnel

She met Manfred many years ago, when she rescued him from a cave-in. Together they've built a thriving shortcut-building business! She builds shortcuts throughout the caves that are accessible through the Camp in lieu of her husband Manfred Tunnel, who is now a Spelunker.

Osiris

Osiris is the boss of Duat, the secret area in the Temple of Anubis. He is the father of Anubis, and drops the Tablet Of Destiny upon death, a valuable item used to obtain the Qilin and reach the Sunken City. Once the fight starts, he will start to float back and forth, stopping and slamming the ground anytime the player passes under one of his hands. This destroys tiles, but his hands will not extend deeper than two tiles below the top of the Duat. The top of the hands are safe to jump on, but being slammed by them will deal two damage and hitting the sides will stun the player and send them backward. They are primarily used as a way for the player to get within striking distance of Osiris himself. Upon death, Osiris will burst into a large amount of emeralds, drop the Tablet of Destiny, and spawn a portal leading to Ice Caves.
