Physicist

A young Korean boy with a well-defined face, fair skin and soft features. He is very tall, measuring 1.81 cm. He has long black hair, which he wears in a short ponytail, making his father think he is homosexual. His eyes are dark. He has a well-defined body with large mid-chests. During the games, his clothing was a uniform, a white T-shirt with the collar and the end of the short sleeves in green and the number 388 in the middle of the shirt of the same color, green sports pants with a white line and a sports jacket, the jacket had the number 388 on one side and a red label with a cross on it on the other side (which was initially blue with a circle). But once outside of the games he usually wears more casual and slightly disheveled clothes.

History with his father

Dae-ho grew up surrounded by four older sisters and spent most of his time playing with them, making him an expert in things considered "girly" by societal standards. His father forced Dae-ho into the military in an attempt to counteract this, so he joined the Republic of Korea Marine Corps, where he was part of Class 1140. During his time in the Navy, a firefight occurred in which several soldiers were killed and wounded. Although Dae-ho survived, the incident likely caused him to develop post-traumatic stress disorder, which resurfaced later in life.

Personality

Dae-ho is a respectful young man. He shows great discipline as a former member of the navy. Dae-ho is also an understanding person and can understand why someone would do something, even if he himself wouldn't do it. During the Uprising, Dae-ho is shown to be frightened and abandon his task upon seeing a dead body. He is likely to have suffered from intense PTSD from his service in the marines and the shooting incident he witnessed there. Dae-ho only began to crack from the pressure when the shooting fully unfolded and after witnessing Player 072's death in front of him, which may have triggered a common traumatic response among veterans. It is also subtly implied that Dae-ho's father was abusive, as he mentions that his father disapproved of the interests his four sisters instilled in him, forcing him to join the Marines as a consequence. Also, when Dae-ho is suffering from a trauma episode and fearfully hiding in the dorms, Hyun-ju approaches him to retrieve the magazines sent to him, but reflexively flinches when Hyun-ju simply raises his hand, seemingly anticipating her to hit him, which may imply childhood abuse he suffered at the hands of his father that still affects him decades later.

During the Squid Game (Part 1)

Appears from Episode 3 onwards. Rose of Sharon is not shown during the event, but her face can be seen on the floor screen showing the contestants. In the vote taken after the first game, it appears that O was pressed. In episode 4, he overhears Seong Ki-hoon, Park Jung-bae, and Oh Young-il talking from the side and joins in. When Jeong-bae discovered the Marine Corps tattoo peeking out from under his short-sleeved T-shirt, he immediately raised his hand in greeting when he checked the same tattoo, and although they voted differently, they quickly became friends. The Rose of Sharon also bloomed for Ki-hoon. He expressed his respect for Ki-hoon saying it was great how he led the contestants while desperately shouting “ice.” Afterwards, he and Jeong-bae watch the violent scene where Thanos and Myung-gi fight, and when Jeong-bae says, “Shouldn’t someone stop him?” he is surprised and asks if he is talking about himself. In the second game, the six-person team of 6 Angles hired a team with Jung Bae, Gi-hoon, Young-il, and Jun-hee, who knew each other in the previous game, and was overwhelming than any other female participant without a single mistake without a single mistake. He quickly succeeds with his skills. He succeeded in the second game and returned to the hostel and talked to the team members. He also served in the Marine Corps and said that his father would be a little boy. Jung-bae asks one more small question about his family, and Daeho changes the topic of conversation, avoiding the answer somewhere and avoiding answering. During the Squid Game (Part 2)

He drops the radio that searches for him and hides in a corner. Since he single-handedly thwarted the slim chances he had of winning, he ultimately contributed to the failure of the rebellion.
