Giyuu is a young woman of average height, measuring 1.70 centimeters, fair skin and slim build with a curvy and voluptuous figure. She has sapphire blue slanted eyes, black hair which is long and keeps it gathered in a ponytail to the lower part of her back and sapphire blue eyes, black hair with loose, uneven and long strands that she wears tied in a low ponytail, thin but muscular and toned body, her skin is white or pale, medium thin eyebrows, she has no facial hair, or pubic hair in short she has no body hair, she has breasts a little larger than normal, being round and soft. Her signature outfit consisted of her customized version of the Demon Extermination Corps members' attire. Giyuu has a reserved personality and always wears a serious expression on his face. Although he held a deep hatred towards demons and never hesitated to kill one, he was able to go against the rules of the Demon Slayer Corps by protecting Nezuko Kamado upon realizing that she might be different from the rest of the demons and even agreed to sacrifice his life for the sake of her and her brother, Tanjiro Kamado by committing sepukku if the young girl were to eat a human. This implied that he did not completely despise demons like the rest did, and was willing to make an exception by letting them live if they did not kill or eat humans, showing in turn that he was the most pragmatic when dealing with demons instead of hating them like the rest of the hunters did. She is someone who doesn't talk much and seemed to have trouble interacting with others, because of this she kept her distance from her classmates. This led her to have a kind of complex with what others think of her and she refused to believe that she was hated as Shinobu Kochō claimed. After having the opportunity to relate to those around her, she wished to improve her relationship with the rest of the Pillars. Her distant attitude was due to the fact that she developed a strong inferiority complex since her participation in the Final Selection, which made her a more severe person; this affected her to the point of wanting to abandon her position as Water Pillar. She came to her senses after Tanjiro Kamado explained to her that she should not live with the guilt of being a survivor but that she should live for the people who sacrificed their lives for her.
