Mikey Hamato - ROTTMNT

Michelangelo Hamato

His full name is Michelangelo Hamato, but his nickname is Mikey. He is one of the four Ninja Turtles. Mikey is a mutant box turtle who is able to close the openings in his shell to make it even more difficult for him to be attacked. He is an artist and skater, and instead of nunchucks, he wields a kusari-fundo, which possesses a "mystical whip" ability.

Ninja Turtles

The Ninja Turtles are made up of Raphael, the eldest, Donatello and Leonardo, the two being twins, and the youngest, Mikey. They protect New York from possible dangers, but without being discovered, since they believe that humans would reject them, since they are mutants. They usually go out at night to patrol.

Personality

Michelangelo is very similar to his previous incarnations, as he loves to crack jokes and is generally more optimistic than his brothers. He has a passion for art, likely of many kinds, as he is shown to have a passion for painting and cooking. He can be very oblivious, as shown in episode 10, where he interrupts Donatello many times, likely not realizing he is doing so. He also tends to be naive, but kind-hearted.

Appearance

Mikey has bluish-green skin, yellow-orange circles painted on his shoulders and thighs, a bright yellow plastron with blue and blue neon lights painted on it, as well as a navy blue backrest with yellow-orange designs. He has black eyes, a small opening on the right side of his upper jaw, three fingers on each hand and two toes on each foot. He wears an orange bandana-mask over his eyes (with a short tail), orange wristbands and matching color socks, and orange knee pads with faces drawn on them (dead face on the right and smiling face on the left). He also wears a light brown belt around his chest and a strap over his right shoulder, as well as a Turtle emblem over his heart.

Raphael Hamato

Raphael is the eldest of the 4. Raphael has a boisterous and brash personality, preferring to act first and think later when facing enemies. However, he can get anxious under pressure, which gets worse when he becomes shy about it. He has a hard time being mean to people, especially his brothers, which is shown when he didn't want to upset Donatello for not liking his gifts, but will fight with them if they are arguing, such as when he fought with Leonardo over dethroning his wrestling idol Ghost Bear. He seems to have a soft spot for animals, as shown in episode 1 when he saw Mayhem lost and scared at a construction site. He also seems to be an extreme eater, as shown in episode 2 when he ate a large amount of salami.

Leonardo Hamato

Leonardo is the middle brother alongside Donatello, who is his twin. Leonardo is charming and intelligent, and possesses a cheerful quality that he often uses against potential enemies even while fighting them. He is prone to cracking jokes, sometimes at inappropriate times, and uttering phrases that he believes "get the team going." Despite his carefree tendencies, he is capable of being sensible and serious when the occasion calls for it. When he does, as in the events of episode 2, he uses both his charisma and intelligence to convince his siblings to listen to him.

Donatello Hamato

Donatello is one of the middle brothers alongside Leonardo, who is his twin. Like his previous incarnations, he is the brains of the Ninja Turtles, as well as quite neurotic. He prefers technology to mystical powers, and is more reckless than previous incarnations, as he is said to be an adrenaline junkie. He can also be a bit irresponsible, as he left the keys to the Turtle Tank lying around, allowing Splinter to steal it. He also has a tendency to go overboard with his plans and even brag, such as wishing for uranium for his machines, and talking about the container he made for a sick Splinter. He can be passive-aggressive; rather than confront his brothers about their bad habits, he made "gifts" that would force his brothers to give up those habits. Unlike his previous incarnations, Donatello is more reckless as he is said to be an adrenaline junkie. He is very arrogant and loves to show off. He is constantly upset when his siblings don't listen and/or appreciate his intelligence. Donatello is also somewhat manic and will most likely snap when he doesn't get his way. On top of that, he is also obsessive and stubborn if he is determined to get what he wants. Donatello can also be irresponsible, such as blaming his mistakes or denying responsibility for his actions. But aside from that, he is shown to have a slightly more sensitive place for his siblings, especially with Mikey.

Splinter Hamato

Splinter is the adoptive father of the Turtles. Splinter, unlike his previous incarnations, is a more laid-back and somewhat lazy ninja master, as he is often shown prostrate in a chair. He is absent-minded and has trouble remembering his children's names, even referring to them by their mask colors. He also incites mischief and trouble with his children, including stealing the Turtle Tank in Episode 8. However, he is shown to act when necessary, such as during Episode 2 and Episode 16. Also as shown during Episode 23, Splinter cares deeply for his children and their safety. Splinter has also been shown to slowly become more serious as the first season progresses. He cares deeply for the Turtles' safety, and is sometimes shown to be strict as a result. Although his first on-screen training session was watching a tape of Lou Jitsu (which, given the later revelation, was actually a video of himself), Splinter is very serious about training the Turtles to hone their fighting skills.

April O'neil

April is best friends with the Ninja Turtles. She is a human, and is one of the only humans who knows about the Turtles' existence, and considers them to be her younger siblings. April is optimistic, resourceful, and adventurous. She tends to be more of a go-with-the-flow style spirit in the way that she is adaptable and often matches her energy with those around her. April is shown to be incredibly brave, as seen in "The Gumbus" when she revels in the fiasco at the Stock & Shop while Michelangelo and Leonardo are terrified. She is quick to spring into action. However, while she doesn't like to wait, April is not known to be harmfully impulsive. April has a selfless and heroic streak, such as in "Warren & Hypno, Sitting in a Tree" when she frees Warren Stone from a mystical gauntlet that Baron Draxum is trying to collect in order to ensure that he and Hypno-Potamus can stay together. April also has a forgiving nature, befriending and learning to care for Draxum despite everything he has done even before most of the Turtles. Though she can be rude at times, such as in "The Fast and the Furriest" when Donatello accuses her of stealing the Turtle Tank and, upset that he and his siblings broke in and were accused of something she didn't do, kicks the Turtles out her window.
