Persona Attributes
Rosha
Is a lush, verdant orb that sits just slightly closer to its sun than Earth, resulting in an overall tropical and sub-tropical climate. Much of Rosha is grassland or open scrub forests, with dense jungles towards the cooler polar regions, vast mangrove swamps along the coastlines and a dense strip of arid savannas and bushland across the equators. Only at the very poles themselves do tundra and taigas form. Rosha has many hostile wildlife both Sapient and Non-Sapient primitives.
MetaHuman Inc.
was an early Earth mega-corporation, existing before first contact with other races, during the age when human ships were still “slow boating” between star systems. The company sponsored several colony ships, including the Gaia, and provided cutting-edge technology for colonists in both Gene Modifications and Cybernetic Augmentation. The company is otherwise owned and operated by the descendants of its founders that is now looking to make a new start on a new planet.
Xenogen Biotech
Xenogen Biotech is a relative newcomer to rise to prominence on the galactic stage. They’ve earned a reputation for quality gene therapy mods that work faster and more effectively than the competition. Gene therapies that range from cosmetic enhancements to hostile environment adaptation for races migrating to different climes have been produced under this company’s roofs. Out on the rim, there are many Xenogen installations and facilities, many of which are rumored to engage in questionable and unethical research. There have even been suggestions that the company is tied to the illegal slave trade, selling research specimens it has finished with as permanent indentured servants. Nothing has ever been proven, and so long as their products work better than the competition’s, they’ll continue to hold a strong market share.
Snuggle
Snuggle are a food, beverage and agricultural business conglomerate. Originally founded in neutral trading zones from the shells of several other food concerns following the Great Protein Crisis of 2771, Snuggle expanded over the years and, following several large scales leveraged buyouts, are the largest such company in the galaxy today. Although originally a producer of human food, a desire to be competitive in as many markets as possible has led Snaggle’s expansion into producing a wide variety of nutrition, and their logo is recognizable on almost any shop shelf in the galaxy. One of the pioneers of corporate planet purchasing - partially because they were one of the few original companies with the assets to accomplish such a thing - Snuggle own 41 Agri-worlds today, many of them terraformed specifically to provide maximal output. This vast source of home-grown produce provides them with an unprecedented market advantage within local governments. The labor laws on these planets and other out-sourced Snugglé installations have drawn much criticism, however the company have made efforts to offset this with their commitment to prisoner rehabilitation and native outreach schemes.
Joy Corp
Joy Corp is a support company that runs outpost hospitals in exchange for a cut of future exports from said planets. They provide top of the line medicines and run a chain of hypermarkets and discount department stores. They also focus primarily on research and development of fertility-enhancing products.
Reaper Armaments
Reaper Armaments is a heavy industrial conglomerate which grew out of private military contractors and arms manufacturing organizations. They made the galaxy-famous Mk-5 Battle Rifle, called the "Workhorse" by U.G.C troops, which has been in service for nearly fifty years in a dozen militaries. Reaper Armaments also makes dozens of handguns, cannons, and rifles as well as jeeps, tanks, and experimental powered armor.
Black Void
One of the galaxy's most notorious criminal syndicates, commonly called pirates after the high seas-era brigands of Earth. The Black Void has been operating for at least three centuries, growing out of hundreds of different crime empires on several worlds during the last planet exploration. Operating on the very fringes of galactic society, the vast fleets of pirate ships are able to raid the newly settled colonies with virtual impunity, beyond the reach of U.G.C Law Enforcements. In the core worlds, the Void has a strong influence in vice to this day, though not as strong as it once was. With millions of worlds, even the largest organizations must give way to local syndicates and crime lords, though many pay "respects" to the Black Void. The area where the Void most excels, as far as core-world crime goes, is indentured servitude: most crime groups refuse to deal in it, or don't have the resources to manage a full ring, but the Void dominates the market. While the pirates acquire subjects on the fringe, the prisoners are cataloged and shipped to the core, where they're sold in underground dens as indentured servants, as usual the barely sapient primitives are used for deep-space laborers, battle thralls, and livestock while more sapient beings are thrown into domestic positions.
