about

Goo Kim (김준구 Kim Joon Goo) is a supporting character and an antagonist in Lookism. He is Charles Choi's bodyguard, the debt collector for the HNH Group's illegal money, one of the ten talented individuals raised by the HNH chairman, and one of the three kids trained by Tom Lee.

appearance

Joon Goo is a lean-built man with glasses and dyed blond hair. He is always shown fashionably dressed, in a similar fashion as Jong Gun. Contrary to Gun, Joon Goo dresses in relatively lighter colors, (white and gold) as opposed to Gun's (grey and black).

personality

Joon Goo seems to be very unpredictable and uncaring. Most of the time, he seems like an easygoing guy. When fighting, he maintains this easygoing manner, even when he faced formidable opponents like Logan, Johan, Gun, Sinu Han, and Daniel. However, he can be incredibly violent and sadistic. This is shown when he tells Vasco's bullies that he is a villain, just like them, before viciously striking them in the face with a chair. Tom Lee stated that the only time Goo becomes serious is whenever he is holding a sword or anything that resembles it. He has not shown any interest in women, however, but has shown a huge interest in money. Joon Goo was willing to make some extra money, even if it meant that he was going back to juvie because of his actions' consequences. However, in Vasco's backstory. Goo he recognized "there is a knife and a victim" and he decided to make his service free— “This will be on the house” . This is because he realized he regarded violence as more enjoyable than the money he originally demanded. He hates to be underestimated and can be furious about it. He is known to get quite serious when holding a sword or anything that resembles it and holds swords with the highest respect, as when he told Robert Choi of black bear gang “Mister don’t ever use a sword again.” He shown to use the phrase “Holy!” Most likely picked up from hearing Tom Lee say it.

history

Several years ago, Jong Gun was sent to test Goo in a duel. The outcome remains unclear, but it is evident that the fight was intense, with both men sustaining heavy injuries, after the fight they joined forces in the debt collecting business and racked up 20 billion won. It is revealed that later on Goo fought Gun again because Gun left Goo in the debt collecting business to guard Crystal Choi, again the fight outcome remains unclear but it is confirmed that Goo was indeed the one who gave Gun the scar between his eyes, whereas Gun caused Goo to need steel pins in his body, implying broken bones/ligaments.

Goo is a master at fighting. He is one of the best fighters in the PTJ-verse. While not much is known about his overall skills we know that he must be a fighter of unparalleled might given him having an equal footing to Jong Gun. However, unlike his partner, Joon Goo specializes in using whatever object he picks up as a weapon. Joon Goo has impressive strength and stamina regardless as he was capable of shattering three-camera stands in chapter 108 and standing up to an onslaught of attacks from Johan Seong in chapter 263. When holding a sword or anything that resembles one he gets quite serious and doesn't show any signs of the playful attitude he usually has. He has an incredibly durability that is always displayed when he fights. Whenever he fights someone, he tends to get hit a lot at the early part of the fight. Although it might be that he does it on purpose. Goo's most notable trait in his fighting prowess is his ability to use anything as a weapon. Once he picks up a weapon, the result of the fight is pretty much decided regardless of the opponent. His fight with Johan Seong was already determined when he picked up a piece of wooden lumber. Another display of his skills is when he defeated Sinu Han just by using a chopstick after sharpening it.He is also shown taking out hundreds of experienced weaponized adults when he was 16 alongside Gun (who was also 16) in chapter 310. He was the heir to the Korean sword, which makes him serious when he grabs the sword. Possibly, he was Trained Kumdo(A proficient sword art of korea) and Kendo Which explains his weapons usage and physical capabilities. Goo Kim's abilities when unarmed are unknown, due to his habit of getting hit and not fighting seriously when he doesn't have a weapon. So it's almost impossible to say how strong he is. In manager kim webtoon episode 97 , goo is shown to fist fight park jincheol(major character in manager kim and my life as a loser , also mentioned by eugene in lookism chapter 437) dodging his attacks , taking and punch from him and landing a clean hit right after , showing that he can hold his own , without weapons as well , After being provoked my jincheol , goo uses his watch as a sword to fight him , cutting jincheol's gun even after being pointed at by it on his forehead and leaving a huge scar on his torso .

trivia

He has asked several characters to be "secret friends" with him, which is how he refers to his successors. One of his oldest successors is Samuel Seo, who he picked up after Gun dropped him. Another one of his successors is Logan Lee, who dropped out of school to join him. The last of his secret friends are unknown. He has three in total. Goo considered Johan at first but decided against it because he is a "momma's boy". He hates smoking and tattoos. He also believes "a body should be soft and smooth". Some of the non-weapon objects he utilizes (chopsticks and a wooden plank) seem to resemble swords.
