In 2009, Callie had a second baby, a daughter named Phoebe. Phoebe's biological father was unable to establish a connection with her and walked out of the family sometime before or when she turned 12. Callie, Trevor, and Phoebe lived in an apartment in Anderson East Estates on Barneson Street in Chicago.[Note 1] One morning during the summer of 2021, Phoebe removed an electrical outlet in a room, cut a large hole in it, tied the neighbor's electricity in, and raised theirs to 220. A noticeable humming noise caught Callie's attention, and she came to investigate what was going on. The bright light from Phoebe's headlamp blinded Callie. She turned with her hands out and told her to turn it off. Phoebe stated that she could run her baton. Callie asked why she didn't think to ask him. Phoebe pointed out his ineptitude for science. Callie noticed that her hair dryer was in a pile. Phoebe mentioned that she was better at other things like quesadillas. Callie thanked her for the reassurance.

Callie opened the door and learned from the landlord that they were evicted. Callie initially tricked Trevor and Phoebe and told them that their trip to Summerville would only take a week. At one point during the trip from Chicago to Summerville, there was car trouble. Callie and Phoebe sat on the roof of his Subaru while Trevor fixed something under the hood and then they continued on. Later in the trip, Trevor pulled out of a motel. He was about to close the back door of the car. Phoebe stood up and stepped out of the way. Phoebe looked around as Callie drove through Summerville. Callie proclaimed that it was where her grandfather lived. Phoebe added that it was also where he died. Trevor was upset that his phone wouldn't reach even a bar. Callie said that there better be a bar. Phoebe scoffed at his pun.

Arriving at the Farm, Phoebe shielded her eyes from the sun with her hand and looked at the many satellites on the roof. Callie tried to open the front door but it was locked. She lifted the mat and searched in vain for a key. She asked Phoebe to come in. Callie tried to look through a window while Phoebe picked the lock. Callie was dismayed by the sorry state of the interior. Phoebe noticed a sequence of numbers scratched into the boards near the ceiling in the study and then examined a small Zuul figurine she found. An earthquake drove them to take shelter under the dining room table. Trevor joked, "Remember that summer when we died under a table?" Callie was upset that the house was on a fault line. Phoebe speculated that he was screwing around. Callie found him fucking annoying. The earthquake stopped. Trevor took comfort in the fact that they would only be in town for a week. Callie said they were living in Summerville permanently. Phoebe noticed a PKE Meter under the wrecked couch. She reached over and grabbed it. Trevor remembered Callie saying she had money saved up. Callie confirmed she did before she had kids. Phoebe pointed out she was never good with money. Callie thanked her for the support. Trevor noticed Phoebe had something, but she didn't know what it was either. Trevor grabbed the top of the meter, but Phoebe let it go. They met Janine Melnitz, the woman who notified Callie of her father's death.
