Sorbet Shark Cookie

Overview

Sorbet Shark Cookie is a friendly, curious, and rambunctious shark mer-Cookie who dreams of going on grand adventures with pirates. Being able to transform between their full fishy form and a fun-sized land form, they spend their days swimming the seas in search of adventure and unintelligibly babbling bubble-speak on land.

Land appearance

Sorbet Shark Cookie is a small Cookie with dull ruby dough. They have ovular navy blue eyes along with drooping, mauve eyelids. They sport plain brown cavalier boots and simple black pants, along with a bell-sleeved white lace-up shirt, under a worn black vest. Some other accessories they don are the fuchsia bandanna tied around their waist, a black band on their left hand, a small golden chain on their right hip, and a large spyglass with golden accents. Their smooth "hair" is muted cyan with a dull blue ombré. Their attire resembles that of a pirate.

Sea appearance

Sorbet Shark Cookie, in their shark form, has a hybrid appearance blending cookie and shark features. Their upper body remains humanoid with soft, pinkish-tan skin, while their lower body transitions into a sleek, shark tail. Their color palette consists of cool oceanic tones, primarily deep teal with gradients of white and light blue. Their face has distinct white markings resembling gills, and their eyes are sharp and playful, often reflecting their mischievous yet friendly nature. Their hair is spiky and fin-like, complementing their aquatic theme. In this form, Sorbet Shark Cookie has small, sharp teeth and expressive eyebrows, giving them a mischievous yet endearing expression. Their arms remain cookie-like but with fin-like extensions. Their tail has sleek, streamlined fins, and pink arrow-shaped markings add a dynamic, energetic touch. They wear no clothes in this form as it slows them down while swimming.

Personality

Back when they were a simple shark, Sorbet Shark Cookie admired life above the sea, and would often watch pirates on their ships, partying together and being merry. They had dreamt of befriending and joining the pirates on their endeavors, but because of their appearance, they would scare away anyone they approached. This made them quite the lonely individual, always being misunderstood due to their species. On top of becoming a pirate, they wished to become a Cookie and roam the land without anyone running from them in fear. After becoming a Cookie and gaining their land legs from Black Pearl Cookie, Sorbet Shark Cookie blossomed into an enthusiastic, cheery individual. Sorbet Shark Cookie is not a malicious individual by heart, and simply desires the company of others. Sorbet Shark Cookie is also quite mischievous, however, and isn't a stranger to trouble.

Trivia

Sorbet Shark Cookie is unable to speak with words on land, instead having to use "bubbles", or gibberish strings of O's and zeroes. They regain the ability to use words when in water and in their shark form. They use their land form when walking on normal ground tiles, transforming into their shark form when entering waterway tiles. Unlike land Cookies, Sorbet Shark Cookie had spent most of their life in the sea as a native creature of it. Due to this, they are immune to becoming soggy in water unlike other Cookies. They don't know what fireworks are. Sorbet Shark can breath and talk underwater.

As a shark, they have 2 dicks of equal length. Internal fertilisation means that, just as in mammals, the male shark and female shark must physically come together so that the male can pass his genetic material (sperm) into the female for her eggs to be fertilised. How does he do this? With his clasper! Similar to a penis, a clasper is an external appendage found on male sharks (and stingrays, skates and chimaeras) that is designed to deliver sperm when inserted into the female’s cloaca. However, unlike a true penis, it is not an independent appendage but an extension of the pelvic fin. When a female shark is ready to mate, she gives out chemical signals, or pheromones, to let any males in the vicinity know. Once she has been found by a male, mating involves a lot of biting, thrashing and rolling around! Often the male has to bite the female’s back, flanks and fins in order to get into a position to mate successfully. For this reason, some female sharks have evolved to have skin that is almost twice as thick as the males’ skin in these spots! Most shark species have never been observed mating in the wild. After an egg has been fertilised, the embryo’s organs and main systems will start to develop. As the embryo grows, it receives nutrients from its surroundings in a multitude of ways. Embryos that are dependent on yolk are called ‘lecithotrophic’, whereas those nourished by both yolk and their mother are called ‘matrotrophic’.

Once they are mature, sharks will usually mate in the spring and summer. The period of gestation can be anything from 9 months to 2 years ( frilled shark gestation period may be as long as 3.5 years). Most species have an average gestation period of 9-12 months.

Cookie bodies usually are constructed from various types of cookie dough, including gingerbread and sugar cookie dough. Their dough can take a very diverse variety of colors which can often be affected by and representative of their race/nationality or environment much like skin tones in humans. Cookie dough is also susceptible to certain conditions and imperfections akin to those seen in humans, such as scarring, burning, wrinkling, freckling, blushing, facial/body hair, and vitiligo[5]. However, Cookie bodies may also show colors and markings unlike anything naturally occurring in humans. Cookies are known to be flat with little lateral dimension. Such a fact can be stylistically bent or entirely disobeyed, however, in instances where doing so would benefit an art composition’s readability. This is most prominently seen in compositions where a Cookie is shown with a spherical head in a profile view. In terms of size, almost all Cookies are no more than a few inches tall; the height to depth ratio for Cookies is generally about 7:1, and, proportionally, non-infant Cookies tend to be 1¾ to 2½ heads tall. Based on certain characters being fitness buffs or avoidant of unhealthy eating, it can be assumed that Cookies can gain/lose muscle mass/body weight. Like human bodies, Cookie bodies grow and mature as they age. Cookie eyes most often display white eyecing, that being akin to both/either sclerae or eyelashes/lids in a human, and colored, variable inner eyes, representing irises in a human. The second most common color of eyecing is black/dark brown. Depending on a Cookie’s race/life experience, they may also feature specialized pupils in their eyes; this is most notable in Coffee Tribe Cookies, who are said to have visible slit pupils due to the high amount of caffeine in their dough, and Dragon Cookies, who are reptilian overall. Cookie hair also often resembles or is a Cookie’s main ingredient. Other types of hair, such as facial and body hair, make themselves evident in Cookies. These hair types can present themselves in either solid forms or through a linear appearance similar to Cookie icing facial features.
