Suekichi is a goofy and unassuming looking man with straight black hair parted in the middle and falling on either side of his head, thin eyes that seem to be eternally closed, and a smiling, satisfied expression that rarely leaves his face. Suekichi appears to wear traditional Japanese garments. His facial appearance has barely changed since he was a child. Suekichi has a kind and polite demeanor that hides his fiercely cunning and calculating side. From a very young age, he has had a colossal thirst for strength due to his relatively weak physical constitution. He is also a thorough opportunist who attempts to study his chosen opponents at all times and gain as much information as he can to aid him in his battle. Much like his friends, Kaneda also enjoys the company of beautiful girls, though not to the same extent. From birth, Suekichi was a frail and depressed child. Suekichi was a sickly man who suffered from constant illnesses and nearly died twice. By the time he started school, he had already undergone four operations. Before entering the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, Suekichi's teacher (who taught him the Kujin Style) attempted to dissuade him from entering as it was not a place for average people. After being invited to the Kengan Annihilation Tournament on a whim, ever since he met and went for a drink with Ohya Ken, Suekichi initially spent his time at SS Kengan challenging and gambling with others in shogi. He defeated Ohkubo Naoya and Yamashita Kazuo several times.
