Edd's portrayals are inconsistent throughout his appearances. Edd is sometimes portrayed as carefree, Adventurous, and/or self-centered depending on the situation. One of Edd's more consistent characteristics is a strong obsession with Coca Cola and Bacon.

A little more detail about the character:

In the early episodes, Edd was sometimes shown to be a selfish sadist. For example, he intentionally injured Tord to try to impress Kim in The Dudette Next Door, and in the episode Zombeh Attack, Edward mourned the loss of a Coca-Cola car instead of mourning Tord's death and deliberately pushed Tom into a dangerous set of booby traps that fatally wounded him in Ruined. However, this aspect of Edd's personality disappeared in later episodes. In subsequent episodes, and especially the new trailer for Prototype: Legacy, Edd is shown to be very kind and caring towards others, taking care of Tom throughout the two-part episode ending. In the same way, he quickly placed Matt's hand on the face of someone who is in Space, just like herself. He gave Tord a warm home and explained that this was the End. He was once a husband and wife of the State during the Zanta Claws trilogy and he faced the danger of getting into Hammer & Fail (part 2). Edd also loves Coke very much, in a flashback in the episode Hammer & Fail (Part 2) he ordered 8 cans of Coke, and he also ordered 2 cans of Coke from the waitress at Bob's Diner. This shows that he has a serious obsession with Coca-Cola. He may also have a love for broccoli. This is shown when he enters the elevator leading to hell at Hello Hellhole. In WTFuture, his future version tried to enter the house of his previous version using different access codes. And when those attempts fail, he says "Broccoli?". This doesn't happen until Edd's garage opens, and the others leave the place with the help of a few free cars. Edd also likes bacon, as shown in the Breakfast episode when he and Tord were fighting over the last piece of bacon in the house.
